Kristen Doute‘s reality TV reincarnation on The Valley has made her the voice of reason amid personal growth. So it makes sense why her reaction to Scheana Shay’s decision to reveal her husband’s affair matters. The James Mae founder also has a ton of history with Scheana from their time on Vanderpump Rules together.
On July 10, news of Brock Davies’ affair broke, thanks to a publication of an excerpt from Scheana’s book, My Good Side. The New Zealand native strayed in 2020, when Scheana was pregnant with their daughter, Summer Moon. Three years later, he confessed. And the couple presumably worked through the affair.
Kristen Doute wants to know, “Why now?”
Kristen posed the obvious question in a recent interview. The new mother wondered as to the purpose in exposing the affair after Brock and Scheana had worked through it all.
“The thing is, I don’t understand — I’m not accusing anything, not throwing that out there — but it’s like if you and your husband got over this years ago, why now?” Kristen stated during the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.
The Valley star acknowledged that Scheana’s predicament “sucks.” And Kristen is “really, really sad” for her former co-star’s situation. However, she isn’t sure that she would have gone public had her fiance, Luke Broderick, cheated.
“I can not imagine being like, ‘Well we’ve kept this between us and we’ve worked on our marriage, but now, I’m just gonna throw you under the bus.’ The bus with like giant tires that have f*cking spikes on them. Just drag you down the street,” Kristen shared.
The long-time reality TV star insisted that she was not defending Brock, merely questioning the decision to publish the affair. Admittedly, Kristen is not a fan of Scheana’s husband.
“He’s not my cup of tea … And I really don’t like that he did this to her. She doesn’t deserve that. And when she was pregnant?” she said.
Despite “a lot of emotions” about what her friend endured, Kristen still thinks she would have kept it private were she in Scheana’s position.
