The ladies on Real Housewives of Orange County share many commonalities. From their wealth to their sass, they know how to keep their storylines moving. However, Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson are starting to fall flat with fans. Now, many believe that it might be time for these two BFF’s to exit stage left following RHOC Season 19.
Emily and Gina are relatable and would likely be a solid hang. However, additional aspects are needed to help bring the viewers in. And on this, Emily and Gina are often lacking.
Nevertheless, both of these stars have continually survived all cast cuts since their debuts in Season 13. They must be easy to film with to keep reprising their roles. But, to quote another series in this franchise, it could be time to let these mice go.
RHOC fans agree that Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson don’t bring much to the table

An entire Reddit thread exists on this topic. As the OP in the @BravoRealHousewives group asked, “Am I the only one sick of seeing Emily and Gina?” Overall, this Redditor finds the pair “insufferable,” noting that they have felt this way for years. Immediately, agreeable commenters started chiming in on this thread.
Receiving over 2.5k upvotes and 831 comments (at this present time), this is a topic that many fans can finally agree on. In all of these comments, we could not find any that disagreed with the OP. However, a handful of Redditors did note that Gina was manageable. But when she teams up with Emily, this is when people start tuning her out.
The main takeaway from this thread points to their meh-like storylines. Currently, Emily is sharing about her son and his inner struggles. Yet, her fellow cast members cannot talk about this storyline without facing hostility in return. That dead end leaves Emily as just being the funny schtick girl who pulls food out of random places, like her purses or her pockets.
Meanwhile, Gina has a few solid storylines. But her friendship with Emily is bringing her down. Apart from this, several fans have labeled her as “uninteresting” in this thread. Yet, many fans can agree that, without Emily, Gina might have a shot at transitioning into a highly watchable Real Housewives character on RHOC.
Emily and Gina don’t fit in with the rest of the RHOC cast

The bulk of us are not wealthy. Everything is expensive, and many of us are living one or two paychecks away from financial ruin. HOWEVER, when we tune in to watch any of the Real Housewives series on Bravo, wealth is what we are looking for.
Does Gina live in a home that many of us could never afford? Yes. But does her lifestyle compare to her fellow costars on RHOC? No.
Now, to give credit where it is due, Gina is relatable. She never pretends to be wealthy or prissy. Her lifestyle is what it is, and she gives zero apologies on this matter. However, her relatability is also her downfall, as some of the best Housewives are wildly wealthy and delusional about all things middle class.
And then, there’s Emily. Emily is gorgeous. Yet, like many of us, she is uncomfortable in her skin. Her levels of discomfort have since created storylines that are not fascinating to watch on RHOC.
We tune in to see wealth, glam, private planes, and backstabbing. We do not tune in to watch someone dealing with problems similar to ours. Yes, you were given jeans to wear at a fashion show while the other women got dressier garbs to model. Own this and make it uniquely yours instead of creating an entire season’s worth of insecurities as your storyline.
In general, Emily and Gina are not bringing the same level of showmanship as the rest of the cast on RHOC.
It’s time to let some new cast members step in and take their place

There are many Real Housewives series out there on Bravo. But RHOC is the OG. This series has been on the air since 2006. With 19 seasons under its belt, it is easy to see that this OC fight-fest series plans on sticking around for a long, long time.
Regardless, many women have starred on the show since its debut. But out of these ladies, many have gotten their oranges taken away from them shortly after their first high-heeled steps sounded. From failing to bring the drama to just not vibing with the other females on the cast, Bravo has shown them all the door following their debut seasons. Yet, many fans think that Emily and Gina carry these lackluster attributes, but still, they rise, every season, holding their oranges.
As RHOC Season 19 progresses, the divides on this cast are growing. Therefore, it might be time for a cast shake-up, and, as many fans have stated, Emily and Gina would be their top choice to go. In their place, if Bravo can somehow find other women who live like Heather Dubrow, or even women who are pampered and therefore delusional about all things real world, RHOC could thrive all the more.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
