The bitter friendship break-up between Teresa Guidice and Jacqueline Laurita stunned Real Housewives of New Jersey fans. Lucy and Ethel’s friendship deteriorated during Seasons 4 and 5 of RHONJ. When Jacqueline returned for the seventh season, Teresa accused Jacqueline of ratting her out to the federal government. Now, Jacqueline and her hubby, Chris Laurita, are facing a huge financial problem.
Jacqueline and Chris Laurita failed to respond to a lawsuit
Now that the friends have reconciled, Teresa and Jacqueline could bond over their money woes. US Weekly reported that on July 3, a judge ordered Christopher and Jacqueline to pay a default judgment of $760,000. It seems that the couple neglected to respond to a lawsuit brought by their former attorneys. The law firm, Seidman & Pincus LLC, was awarded $342,000, along with $419,000 in interest. Yikes.
In August 2023, Seidman & Pincus LLC filed the lawsuit. Two attorneys from the firm represented Jacqueline and Chris in the messy bankruptcy case involving Chris’ clothing company, Signature Apparel Group. According to the firm, the RHONJ alums agreed to pay interest on any balances.
However, in the lawsuit, the attorneys claimed that the duo fell behind in making payments. They asked the court’s permission to withdraw as the couple’s attorneys. In 2018, the law firm stopped representing the couple.
Meanwhile, an insider said this is a “very old debt where Chris feels like he was overfilled [sic], but he is in the process of negotiating a settlement. They are confident this will be resolved quickly.”
After Jacqueline left RHONJ in her rearview, the couple moved to Nevada and ultimately settled in California. In 2025, Jacqueline documented undergoing a neck lift and a face lift. I guess priorities are subjective in the Bravoverse.
