Meghan Markle Reveals Royal Dress Rule That Made Her Feel ‘Inauthentic’

Meghan Markle has been the topic of gossip and speculation ever since she and her husband, Prince Harry, left the royal family. After relinquishing their royal duties, the couple moved to the United States. They settled in California to raise their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

At first, Meghan and Prince Harry’s love story captivated the world. However, rumors about Meghan started after the duo’s wedding, and she has been dealing with criticism ever since. Many felt that Meghan was to blame for Harry’s decision to withdraw from royal life. However, Meghan recently shared one part of being a royal that she does not miss.

Meghan Markle wasn’t a fan of the nude pantyhose she had to wear as a royal

During an interview on The Circuit, Emily Chang asked Meghan, “Is there an inherent tension in trying to be relatable while also being a duchess?” Meghan responded, “No, I don’t find – I’m just being myself. So I think, probably, it was different several years ago where I couldn’t be as vocal.” She added with a giggle, “I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time.”

Meghan continued, “Let’s be honest, that was not very myself. I hadn’t seen pantyhose since the ’80s, when they came in the little egg.” She added, “That felt a little bit inauthentic, but that’s a silly example.” Of course, Meghan values being able to be authentic.

“But it is an example of when you’re able to dress the way you wanna dress and you’re able to say the things that are true and you’re able to show up in the space really organically and authentically,” Meghan explained. “That’s being comfortable in your own skin.”

Her successful As Ever brand just dropped its summer line, which includes a new orange marmalade. Plus, Season 2 of With Love, Meghan also just dropped on Netflix.
