Season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County featured the return of Gretchen Rossi. After a 12-year hiatus, Gretchen returned in a friend of the cast role. Of course, her feud with Tamra Judge reignited from the jump. And Gretchen’s fiancé, Slade Smiley, had a huge role in that clash. However, Tamra’s bestie and podcast co-host, Teddi Mellencamp, has Tamra’s back.
During a recent episode of RHOC, Gretchen told Tamra that Slade was unable to get a job in the past due to Tamra’s allegations. Well, Teddi did a deep dive about Slade and decided that Gretchen’s claims were without merit.

Teddi addressed Gretchen’s allegations during an episode of her podcast, Diamonds in the Rough. “So, Gretchen blames Tamra for the reason why Slade hasn’t worked in 10 years, but then, like I’ve Googled Slade …” Teddi explained. Her co-host, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne, also weighed in. “Yeah. She did say that he had lost work because of the bad things that Tamra had said,” Erika stated.
Then, Teddi added, “But, I mean, I Googled it, AND …” Meanwhile, Erika had some questions about Slade’s murky resume. When Erika asked what Slade did before coming on the show, Teddi pointed out that he has been on the show “multiple times … with four different women.”
Erika responded, “What is his line of income? What does he do for a living?” Teddi replied, “I don’t know. The first season of Real Housewives of Orange County, I think he worked in – was it a banking office? Or real estate?”
However, while Gretchen hoped to dispel rumors about Slade being a deadbeat father, RHOC star Katie Ginella’s husband, Matt Ginella, was bringing up the past. He recently called Slade “a guy who was arrested for being a deadbeat dad.”
