The Valley star Brittany Cartwright is putting herself out there. Following her split from husband Jax Taylor, she is getting her “sparkle” back. The couple shares one son, Cruz Cauchi. Now, Brittany is explaining what it was like filming Season 4 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
This challenge was way out of Brittany’s comfort zone. However, after rappelling from a helicopter and trying to haul food and equipment, she quit the competition during the premiere. “I knew I was gonna be first,” the Vanderpump Rules alum stated. “So embarrassing.” I applaud Brittany for getting out of that helicopter.

However, the worst part of Special Forces didn’t have to do with the challenges. It was being apart from Cruz. “I had never left my son that long, and [the show’s] very strict on, like, if you can call somebody. You’re by yourself there,” Brittany told US Weekly. “So, that was really difficult for me because I’ve never, ever been gone from Cruz more than two or three days on a work trip.”
She continued, “[Filming Special Forces] was definitely the longest time I’d ever been away from him. The best thing ever was coming back home, and with Cruz’s autism, I just really wanted to make sure he knew that I was coming back and that I was going to be there,” Brittany added.
Plus, she would video chat with Cruz “any chance that [she] got.” Brittany added, “I brought a photo of him with me, but he was happy to see me when I got back.” And Cruz was Brittany’s reason for signing up for Special Forces. “I just wanted to show him, like, even if things are scary, you can still try,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Brittany is dating Brandon Hanson. Right now, the couple isn’t in a rush to define their relationship.
