The crew of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 just scored a massive tip, thanks in part to Josh Bingham. Josh is the new chef this season. But while Josh is new to Bravo, he is not new to the yachting industry. Boding well for him this season, Josh is a Michelin-trained chef. He is also a calm, prepared, entertaining yachtie, which this series desperately needs more of.
Josh is also a clown, more on that in a bit. Overall, minus a few clownfaced jumpscares, Josh is quickly becoming the main yachtie to watch on Below Deck Med. On this opinion, many people have already agreed.
Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 features new chef Josh Bingham, but he’s no clown

Typically, yacht chefs arrive with a lot of drama. Josh fits this bill, but instead of giving us toxic, temperamental energy in the galley, he gives viewers and cast members alike with a clown, his literal alter ego. But unlike the creepy, sewer-lurking clowns many of us fear (hi), Josh uses his talents for the betterment of everyone on board.
“When I was in Nicaragua, I actually met a clown, and he trained us for two weeks on the craft,” Josh explained. Then, while detailing the “nuances to being a clown,” Josh appeared in his talking head, complete with a full face of clown makeup, a giant bowtie, and bright suspenders. In general, Josh “very much” fancies himself an artist. He likes “lots of different mediums,” such as writing music, playing the guitar, dressing up into characters, and, of course, creating various styles of food.
Chef Josh is staying one step ahead on Below Deck Med
To survive and thrive in this industry, yacht chefs need to have thick skin and master the art of pivoting while saying yes to every whim. So far, Josh is nailing all of these skills.
When one of his charter guests announced their disdain for Tiramisu, Josh did not bat his eyes. Instead, he announced that he already had three bowls of backup desserts, each filled with fresh raspberries and chocolate mousse, prepped and ready to go. “I’m organized, I’m ready,” he said.
Thanks to his foresight, Josh made his crew look efficient and capable, especially when his bonus dessert landed on the table at the same time as the Tiramisu. The following morning, Josh was unfazed and ready to please after his guests announced their wildly different requests for breakfast. From a sunny-side-up egg with nuts to hard-boiled eggs with caviar, Josh gave his guests everything they wanted, with zero tantrums on the side.
Likewise, Josh makes for entertaining scenes. He is a creative soul who is down for anything. “You never know when guests are gonna ask you to dress up or do a silly dance or whatever,” Josh explained, noting that many “chefs want to hide in the galley,” unlike himself. “I enjoy the creativity,” he stressed.
Captain Sandy already has high praise for Chef Josh

When Captain Sandy Yawn first met Josh on Below Deck Med Season 10, her hopes were high. “He’s gonna be great,” she whispered in Episode 1, right after they exchanged their first hellos on board. We actually spoke with Captain Sandy ahead of this premiere episode on Bravo. During our chat, we asked her if this glowing statement was said too soon.
“You know, honestly, yeah, I think he’s gonna be great, to be honest,” she said. However, “I don’t know until I get to watch the show, because then I’ll get to see if the guests are complaining or not. But, as far as a human being, he’s a great person,” Captain Sandy answered.
Overall, his resume impressed Captain Sandy. But once she saw how happy he made their first group of charter guests, her praises for him grew.
During their first tip meeting, Captain Sandy turned to Josh. “Josh, [the guests] were ecstatic about your food. And I am blown away,” she raved. “Thanks, Captain,” Josh humbly replied, joking that he needs to “do another eight more” charters just like this one.
Chef Josh could be the “best chef” Aesha Scott has ever worked with
Aesha Scott and Victoria SanJuan agree with Captain Sandy. They also approve of Josh. His ability to help them score a shockingly large tip right at the start of BDM Season 10 likely aided their sentiments
Recently, they appeared on Watch What Happens Live. Andy Cohen asked, “What’s our reaction when we found out Chef Josh was a trained clown?” Immediately, Aesha and V responded to his cheeky question with kindness. Their answers showed nothing but love and respect for their clown-loving chef.
“Awwwww, brilliant,” Aesha said, referring to Josh and how his mind works. Agreeing, V said, “He’s incredible.” Seemingly shocked, Andy asked, “You loved it?” Without missing a beat, Aesha said, “Yes.”
“Anyone that is authentically who they are, I love, love, love,” Aesha explained. At her side, V added, “Josh is such an incredible human. It’s so easy to love him.” But, Andy asked, is Josh a great chef?
“Yes,” Aesha answered. But, “How does he stack up against other chefs you’ve worked with?” Andy wondered. “Probably, one of the best, or the best chef I’ve ever worked with,” Aesha revealed.
There you have it. All hands below this deck agree. Josh is thriving on Below Deck Med Season 10.
Below Deck Mediterranean is streaming on Peacock.
