Andy Cohen Shouts Out WWHL Guest for Awkward Interaction — ‘Never Had That Happen’

In 2009, Andy Cohen filmed his first episode of Watch What Happens Live. This late-night talk show series has since welcomed many Bravolebrities and Bravo-lovers to its clubhouse. But during a recent taping, something happened that Andy had never experienced before. Here’s the tea.

Andy Cohen clocks guest in opening shot of WWHL

Gregory Gourdet, a Top Chef alum, recently appeared as a bartender on WWHL. Gregory is a loveable, highly accomplished chef. However, his first few beats on WWHL left Andy speechless, because none of his writers could have predicted what was about to happen.

With a decade’s worth of episodes under its belt, WWHL has filmed many chaotic moments. The October 7 episode was no different. Right as the broadcast began, we saw Andy, and then, we didn’t. Instead, a human entered the frame, blocking the camera lens as Andy attempted to read out his opening lines.

That human was Gregory. “Hey, everybody! Uh … careful,” Andy said, realizing that his bartender had just blocked the frame. “My man, you’re walking right in front of the camera, buddy. Wow. Never had that happen,” Andy quipped.

Thankfully, Gregory quickly slid out of the way. But instead of returning to his boring post behind the bar, he moved behind Andy and his guests, delivering them each a drink. “Welcome to Watch What Happens Live. Wow, thank you,” Andy said, receiving his beverage while finishing his line of, “I’m your host, Andy Cohen, live in the Bravo Clubhouse on Salt Lake City night.”

Andy returned to Gregory to compliment him on this drink, but his overall annoyances were pretty hard to miss. Luckily for Gregory, Andy’s phone later chimed, making this entire episode of WWHL one for the books.

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday on Bravo. WWHL streams on Peacock.
