Kyle Richards is having quite the season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I say that because she’s known for being front and center in most of the drama. And this year? Not so much. She’s started to bond with sophomore housewife Garcelle Beauvais. And it doesn’t hurt that sister Kathy Hilton has joined and made us love Kyle just a little bit with how cute their sisterly relationship is. Plus, I loved that Kathy dished on Kyle’s childhood nickname – Doogie. It’s been hard for me to call Kyle anything but from that point forward.
But Kyle/Doogie has always had her own drama – mainly her well documented panic on the show. She is highly anxious and highly allergic to a few things. Who could forget her allergic reaction to horses when riding in the Netherlands. And we are familiar with her white knuckled terror flying on planes. I can relate and pop a Xanax every time I fly. But one of Kyle’s well known phobias are bees, in which she is highly allergic. Unfortunately for her, a recent run in with the insects proved to be quite scary.
This season is all about Erika Jayne on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But Sutton Stracke is also bringing the tears, and drama, every week. She has earned her first RHOBH diamond for her constant clashing with newbie Crystal Kung Minkoff.
During the girls’ trip to Lake Tahoe, Sutton entered Crystal’s room to return Crystal’s jacket. Crystal was naked and felt that she was “violated.” Garcelle Beauvais had issues with that term, but Crystal refused to back down. Crystal can certainly hold a grudge.
Erika Jayne is putting on quite the show. Possibly the biggest show of her life. On the latest episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Erika continued to weave a tall tale about how her life has unraveled. A car crash, dementia, hidden cash. Her story has all the makings of a Lifetime movie. Or a documentary on Hulu.
But as wild as her tales are, she has plenty of people in her corner. As in, all of her castmates. Only Sutton Stracke seemed a little put off by Erika’s stories. And we know from the midseason trailer that Sutton only gets more suspicious. Now, it looks like Erika has another housewife in her corner.
If you haven’t already watched The Housewife and the Hustler, get to it. Not only does it open with the ever-hypnotic and chaotic Danielle Staub divvying out strip club secrets, but the actual alleged victims of Tom Girardi and Erika Jayne are heavily involved. Hearing the story of these embezzlement claims from the victims’ mouths is another experience altogether.
That said, if you have ears, eyes, and a shred of critical thinking, you are probably getting a good sense of what’s going on from watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in isolation. That “crying scene” Erika put on with Kyle Richards last week was…something. Of course, Bravo fans have been glued to this season. We also know investigators have been tuning in. What’s next, the victims?
Erika Jayne. The name on everyone’s lips. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is focusing almost entirely on her messy and horrifying divorce from Tom Girardi. Her costars want answers. They want to know the uncensored truth about the woman they believe to be their friend. There are appalling allegations being made about both she and Tom. If she’s going to keep these friends, she’s going to have to be as transparent as possible. People want answers.
With a new trip coming up, this is a pivotal point for Crystal Kung Minkoff & Sutton Stracke. At every event or trip, they’ve found a way to be at each other’s throats. It’s entertaining to a point, but it can’t go on forever. They’re going to have to learn how to coexist within the group. It might be difficult. They might even have to fake it until they make it. However, the other women might be sick of them going round for round.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is having one of its most explosive seasons yet, mostly due to the tornado of scandals swirling around Erika Jayne. Erika’s divorce from Tom Girardi amidst his embezzlement claims is unfolding before our eyes. And Erika is either telling the truth or doing her best soap opera acting to make fans believe she wasn’t involved. Even though the evidence is sketchy and she’s still flying private. She seems to only worry about “woe is Erika” and not the millions allegedly stolen from the REAL victims in the story.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, even if Erika is telling the truth, she hasn’t released ONE statement about the victims. Not a single acknowledgment or apology. And the questions just keep piling up about the whole situation, from Tom’s health status to just how long this whole thing’s been going on. Thankfully, a judge ordered that victims can go after Erika for their payments. Considering the price tag on one of her massive rings could literally TRANSFORM the lives of these people and their families.
Things just keep getting worse and worse for Erika Jayne. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been embroiled in a financial scandal for months so. It’s so big we can barely keep up. Every day, more and more is being revealed about husband Tom Girardi’s alleged misdealings. Which includes ripping off orphans and widows. I know we all know this by now but the allegations bear repeating.
Then every week we have to watch EJ put on her non-waterproof mascara and cry for the cameras. She claims her divorce isn’t a sham. And that she was mistreated in the end. Sure, that’s possible. It’s also possible she was out when she got a whiff of the money drying up. I know I am being very biased in my opinion here. But even if Erika didn’t know what was going on with Tom’s finances, the timing of their divorce is just too convenient. And her social media behavior after this all came out has been reprehensible. Does her behavior seem like someone who feels any level of sympathy for those who were victims in this scenario? No, Erika would rather cry about downsizing to a $1 million dollar bungalow. All while popping champagne for her castmates. But if Erika was hoping to maintain any form of her lifestyle when all this is said and done, she can probably let that dream go. Maybe she should focus on finding another rich husband to pay the bills.
Every Real Housewives of New York fan can clearly see that this season is a total bust. And while everyone is trying to point the finger at one person or thing to blame it on, I don’t think it’s that simple. The ladies are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic which hit NYC especially hard. And they filmed the majority of the season amidst one of the most contentious presidential elections of all time that had everyone on edge. Not to mention a national reckoning regarding racism. Also, at least half of the ladies are going through serious personal issues behind the scenes that are taking their toll on them.
Behind the RHONY seems, it sounds like Bravo is worried about the fan response to this season. The addition of Eboni K. Williams has been heavily debated, with some praising her for making the women confront their white privilege and others (AKA Ramona Singer) thinking she’s too “preachy.” And while Leah McSweeney was a fan-favorite last year, the fans have turned on her so bad that even Mona is asking them to give her a break. Sounds like Leah is a victim of the sophomore season scaries.
