The divorce that shocked the world is FINALLY playing out on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi are no more. The mysterious marriage is coming to an end, and the insanity is only beginning. The other women have no idea what a ride they are in for this season. Erika can’t hide her life behind the curtain for too much longer. Too much is coming to light. It’s time to speak up or get out.
You have to wonder how legitimate Erika’s friendships are with Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, & Lisa Rinna. They’re allegedly as thick as thieves, but they never saw this coming. They had no inkling whatsoever about this going down. What type of friend would keep their nearest and dearest in the dark like that? If anything, this might cause them to rethink their relationships with her. Will they hold her accountable for her secrecy?
During the Season 11 Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiere, Garcelle Beauvais sat down with Lisa Rinna to address how Lisa had treated Denise Richards the previous season. Denise denied having a sexual encounter with RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville but was repeatedly pushed to address the situation by her co-stars. When Rinna apologized, she thought everything was settled.
Not so fast, Rinna. Garcelle didn’t resume following Rinna on Instagram. “Rinna for me…it’s tough because I felt like she went to a place that was so unnecessary last season,” Garcelle stated.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is having one of its best seasons in recent years, mostly thanks to the addition of the lovable goofball named Kathy Hilton. Sutton Stracke and Crystal Kung Minkoff have been bringing the drama with their head-t0-head arguments. Kyle Richards and Garcelle Beauvais made up after last year’s battle. But Garcelle is still giving Lisa Rinna the runaround for how she treated her longtime friend Denise Richards last season. And there’s enough tea involving Erika Jayne’s divorce and legal drama for the saga to have its own show.
Rinna has been doing overtime to try to prove she’s a good friend, even though her delivery has been more than questionable at times. Outside of getting the cold shoulder with Garcelle, Rinna seems to be using her daughters yet again to give herself a storyline on RHOBH this year. This time, it has to do with her now 20-year-old daughter Amelia Gray Hamlin dating Kardashians insider (and 38-year-old man) Scott Disick. I’ve always thought Rinna wanted to follow Kris Jenner’s momager footsteps on her own family spinoff. But despite the relationship, it looks like she’ll have to keep working toward that.
Season 11 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills welcomed some new faces. Sutton Stracke, who was a Friend of the Housewives last season, is clutching a diamond this time around. RHOBH alum Teddi Mellencamp recommended her friend, Crystal Kung Minkoff, for the show. Crystal runs a successful business, RealCoco, and is a married mother of two.
And Kyle Richards’ older sister, Kathy Hilton, signed on as a Friend of the Housewives. Kathy is hilarious. I can’t get enough!
The ladies of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are bringing it this season. And it’s a refreshing change from the past few seasons filled with gang-ups, deflections and a whole lot of NOT owning it. We know that Erika
Vain Jayne’s fishy divorce and ongoing legal issues with Tom Girardi will be addressed shortly, and she’s choosing her words carefully since the feds are tuning into Bravo now. Sutton Stracke is putting her new diamond to work with her constant crying and ugly feud with newbie Crystal Kung Minkoff. Garcelle Beauvais is not over Lisa Rinna’s behavior last season toward her so-called friend Denise Richards. And it’s pretty hilarious to watch Rinna continue to try to brush it off, while Garcelle refuses to let up. And don’t even get me started on the joy that is Kathy Hilton, the true savior of RHOBH.
It appears as though the RHOBH cast is paying attention to what fans have been saying about the past few seasons. Rinna is doing overtime to try to appear like a good friend. The girls are learning to throw shade in every direction, rather than ganging up on one person. Well, unless that person is Lisa Vanderpump.
These ladies, particularly LVP’s old buddies Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards, will never let up on shading the Brit for their volatile past. And while a Kyle and LVP reconciliation would happen when pigs fly (or when Erika is actually HONEST about ANYTHING in her life), the two can’t help but have a little fun by being shady to one another in the press. To me, it honestly seems like they miss each other because they both love to bring the other up any chance they get. It’s almost kind of endearing, in some sick and twisted way.
Last week’s episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ended with Sutton Stracke cautiously knocking on Crystal Kung Minkoff’s door before opening it and walking in. Sutton was convinced that bringing an outdoor coat from where it was left in the living room to Crystal’s bedroom would be appreciated. The gesture of a “good friend.” Unfortunately, Crystal and Sutton are neither “good” nor friends at this point.
Of course, editing wanted to delay showing Crystal’s reaction until the next episode. So we only know from the teaser that Sutton walks in on her naked, and she is not too happy about it. The mishap just adds to a lineup of very awkward behavior from Sutton during the cast trip.
The current season of the Real Housewives of New York is truly unlike any other. The smaller gang of five women take on the coronavirus pandemic (namely, Ramona Singer’s maskless antics) and a racial reckoning across the country that truly impacted NYC in a significant way. The show FINALLY added its first Black cast member Eboni K. Williams, a friend of Leah McSweeney and a totally badass career woman.
It’s clear as Bravo has started to diversify Real Housewives casts from many cities that the burden is being put on the woman of color who are responsible for educating and correcting the behavior of upper-class white women of privilege. Just look at Tiffany Moon’s first season on the Real Housewives of Dallas or Crystal Kung Minkoff’s first few episodes on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And honestly, it’s not their job to be the moral compass of the group. Just show me their massive houses and fabulous lifestyles, and let the ladies who can’t get with the program read a book to deal with their own issues.
Last week’s RHONY episode was especially hard to watch. Luann de Lesseps called Eboni “angry” and kicked her out of her house for correctly saying she has more education than her fellow co-stars. The Countess needs a chill pill. I’d understand the outrage if Eboni was trying to be the queen of cabaret or a spokesmodel for Jovani, but that’s not the case.
I’m sure everyone will join me in once again thanking Kyle Richards for bringing Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave back to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Though Teddi is only visiting, her return was anxiously anticipated by literally no one other than Erika Jayne, who is now approving all requests for desperate friendships.
Ahead of being the newest member of the esteemed Fox Force Five, Teddi caught up with an old friend for an interview. She joined Jeff Lewis to bring everyone up to speed on what we’ve missed in her absence. After the crickets chirped, Teddi spoke on what she could have done differently in the Denise Richards drama and how she might have accidentally provided Bravo with her replacement.
