Kanye West Waxes Poetic About His Kim Kardashian Makeover, Not Participating In KUWTK, And Why Kimye, Jr. Isn’t “America’s Baby”

I'll be the first to admit that I give Kanye West a hard time…and it's often undeserved.  It started with his horrific interruption when Taylor Swift was winning her MTV Award, and it continued on through unbecoming behavior in the media.  Let's be honest…his crystal mask didn't help my opinion of him either.

That said, I've found the tiny rapper to be quite entertaining in his relationship with Kim Kardashian and how he interacts with her famous family.  He dresses her to amuse us, he wants her to be more private (seriously, huge props for that one, Yeezy!), and he totally undermines Kris Jenner's baby peddling ways at every turn.  It's pretty awesome.  That said, I think he'll be a pretty swell dad.  Dare I say that I think having a daughter will mature him beyond words.  Kanye, don't disappoint!

Us Weekly breaks down a recent Kanye interview with the New York Times where he dishes on his new album in an article aptly titled "Behind the Mask."  I think we all know what mask to which they are referring!

The normally tight-lipped soon-to-be-dad opens up, saying, "Any woman that you're in love with or that loves you is going to command a certain amount of, you know, energy. It's actually easier to focus, in some ways.  I'm the type of rock star that likes to have a girlfriend, you know? I'm the type of soul that likes to be in love and likes to be able to focus. And that inspires me."  So deep.  Bless him.

Kanye also addresses criticism from Kim's fans about the make-over they saw him give her on Keeping up with the Kardashians.  He explains, "That was from a place of love. It's hard when people read things in a lot of different ways. You know, the amount of backlash I got from it is when I decided not to be on the show anymore. And it's not that I have an issue with the show; I just have an issue with the amount of backlash that I get. Because I just see like, an amazing person that I'm in love with that I want to help."  The lesson here?  Kanye hates backlash almost as much as he hates being drama-free…which apparently isn't that much.

Speaking on impending fatherhood, Kanye reveals, "One of the things was just to be protective, that I would do anything to protect my child or my child's mother," adding that he hasn't "fully developed those thoughts yet. I don't have a kid yet."  No, not yet.

The tiny rapper isn't ready to share his new family with the world.  Kanye opines, "Well, I just don't want to talk to America about my family.  Like, this is my baby. This isn't America's baby."  Trust me, Kanye.  America is fine with that!
