Harry Hamlin & Lisa Rinna

What did Harry Hamlin do? It seems like he saw the future that Real Housewives can be a very, very bad thing. Lisa Rinna reveals that her husband was initially “very against” her joining Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills – even threatening her with divorce if she decided to be a Housewife. Luckily he changed his mind!

Lisa, who will be appearing on Oprah’s Where Are They Now? this Saturday, tells the story of how she was almost the Real Housewife who wasn’t. Her journey to Bravo actually began with a different show.

“Before season five started of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I had a meeting with the producers to do maybe another show. What came out of the meeting was, maybe I should do The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Lipsa recalls. She immediately regretted considering it, fearing Harry would never get on board. “I thought ‘Oh god, Harry’s never gonna go for this.’ He never will.”

Lisa’s fears were correct. He was totally against it! Lisa reveals Harry told her, “Nope. I’ll divorce you. If you do it, I’ll divorce you.” She agreed, deciding, “No more conversations, done. Walked out of the room, that was that.” Lisa admits, “I was fine with it.” … And maybe a bit relieved? Possibly?

But in a bizarre twist of fate, it was actually HARRY who then convinced her to change her mind. “He comes back to me in like two days, and he said, ‘You know, I’ve thought about it, I’ve done some research’,” Lisa laughs. “Harry, being a really, really smart businessman himself, said ‘It’s a good thing, it’ll work for you, you should do it.’ So I did it.”
