Dorinda Medley Thinks Ramona Singer Is Spiteful

I’m not trying to be shady, but I am pretty surprised by how good this season of Real Housewives of New York is so far. There is so much drama in every episode. It is making up for the boring seasons of the past – i.e. when there as a multi-episode arc for a beyond lame trip to Montana. And Dorinda Medley is really coming into her own as a Housewife. I love when she goes off and throws in all these gangsta hand motions. She isn’t someone that I would ever want to mess with – ever.

And this last episode of RHONY was a wild one for Dorinda who is stuck in the middle of a super annoying feud with her boyfriend John Mahdessian and her longtime friend Ramona Singer. The two of them cannot stand each other and Dorinda is put in such an awkward position because of them. And on top of that it is all very public. To make things even worse, Dorinda has to relive this nonsense again when the episodes air. Now, Dorinda is sounding off about that epic showdown between Ramona and John.

Dorinda has been trying really hard to be fair in the Ramona vs. John drama, but it’s been tough. So Dorinda took to her Bravo blog to sound off on the craziness that went down at John’s party. First, off I think it’s so weird that Ramona would crash a party she was not invited to that was hosted by someone she definitely does not like at his own place of work. It just makes no sense for her to be there for anything other than some blatant shit stirring. So I would be pretty pissed off if I was Dorinda.

Dorinda really went in with this blog right from the start: “Ramona Singer is like a fine wine…she only gets better with time. In theory!” Welp, that’s harsh, but I guess that any analogy that involves wine is perfect to explain the Pinot-loving Ramona Singer.

Dorinda also wrote, “You know what you’re going to get, because no matter what, she will either say the wrong thing or say the right thing at the wrong time.” She went even further with it when she involved us (the fans) in this up-and-down relationship with Ramona: “We’ve all been through this…even you…. You’ve sat there, jaw dropped, eyes wide, shocked at what she just said or did.” And she finished it of with, “We’ve all seen her be a force to be reckoned with, and she’s practically the only one who isn’t aware of it.” I’ve been watching this show from the very beginning and that all sounds pretty on point to me.

Ramona is rude most of the time and she just has no idea, a point that Dorinda agreed with me on when she wrote, “believe it or not, she almost doesn’t know better. She’s isn’t malicious – though she CAN be spiteful – and she ultimately realizes that she screwed up.” And then Dorinda threw in a reference to Ramona’s infamous “apologizer” reputation: “It usually comes with an apology that expires within three to four days. Look, ignorance is bliss, as they say, and Ramona is always having a great time.”

It was pretty painful to watch Ramona confiding in Dorinda about her issues with Sonja Morgan and not understanding how parallel the situation is with their own friendship. She was so dense in that scene that I was vicariously embarrassed – if only she actually took Dorinda’s advice.

Dorinda was thinking what we all were (again) when she wrote: “Seeing her be reasonable and agree with me on how to best approach the Sonja situation and be mindful of Sonja’s feelings is what made her antics at Madame Paulette the next day so much more sour for me to swallow. It’s almost like she can only be nice to one person at a time…I just don’t understand.” That actually is kind of true. I feel like Ramona only has one good friend at a time – at least from what I’ve seen on this show. I don’t get why she can’t just be nice to everyone. She could still be sassy and crazy for reality TV without annoying the shit out of everyone with her rude outbursts – but then the show would not be as fun to watch.

I still have no idea why Ramona would ever want to go to John’s party, but Dorinda was probably right when she said, “And good old Ramona loves to be center stage.” That is a highly accurate statement. I mean, she took over the episode, became the subject of Dorinda’s blog, and now I’m writing this article – so yeah, I would say that Ramona is always center stage and that is where she loves to be.

It’s beyond ironic that Ramona has been trashing Sonja and Luann de Lesseps for their supposedly bad behavior the whole season when she has had multiple extremely embarrassing outbursts. #TeamDorinda all day every day.
