For a woman who has lashed out at viewers for judging her too harshly, Briana Renee sure loves to spread her dirt around in public! Telling the press this week that her parents are forbidden from meeting their grandchild, her new son Maverick Jax, the Little Women: LA star claims it’s all “out of protection for my son.”
Briana, who is married to the illustrious sexting aficionado, Matt Ericson (Grundhoffer), accuses her parents of spreading lies about her and her marriage. In an interview this spring, Briana’s father told media sources that he was afraid for his daughter, who he deemed “gullible,” and that Matt was a master manipulator who controlled every aspect of Briana‘s life, including her phone communication. Briana hasn’t spoken to her parents in over a year.

On last season’s LWLA, Matt shockingly told Briana’s friends that he would never allow his child to see Briana’s parents, which was not an empty threat, apparently.
After forgiving Matt of his cheating/texting/lying/temper tantrums on their two-hour Lifetime special, Briana moved into a new house and gave birth to their son, Maverick. During the end of her pregnancy, Briana had suffered complications and was admitted to the hospital, but even at that tempestuous time, she remained estranged from her family.
Briana’s father purports that he has attempted to contact his daughter many times, but has been stonewalled. Briana fought back saying, “My family has never supported my marriage nor my pregnancy, and thus has not earned the privilege to feign concern for their own personal gain.”
Now Briana tells Radar Online that “I know they say miracles happen, but at this point I don’t find that [my parents meeting Maverick] would be a beneficial choice to make.”

Despite the birth of her son, which should be a happy time in any mother’s life, Briana is still plagued by the negative fallout of her marriage and reconciliation with Dirtbag Of The Century Matt, who many see as an abusive presence in her and her children’s lives.
Though Briana is not allowing her parents to meet their grandchild, she certainly is allowing America to see all of the ugliest ins and outs of her tumultuous marriage. Though we never know what the full story is, the images presented in last season’s LWLA and Briana’s spinoff are enough to warrant any family’s concern.
Referencing her father’s public decry of Matt’s controlling behavior, Briana accused him of spreading lies for “personal gain.” What this gain might be is anyone’s guess…?
And given the massive ongoing lies of the person she lives with, Briana’s bottom line accusation about her father is nothing short of ironic: “No one who spreads lies is allowed in my life. Or the lives of my children.”
