Days after it was reported that Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins alum Tonya Cooley filed a lawsuit against MTV and Bunim/Murray Productions, the production company is responding and dismissing her claims completely.

Tonya alleges that her fellow The Ruins cast mates Kenny Santucci and Evan Starkman “took another male participant’s toothbrush and rubbed the toothbrush around plaintiff’s genitals, including rubbing her labia and inserting the toothbrush into plaintiff’s vagina.”

Tonya claims she was passed out at the time of incident but MTV cameras captured the “rape” and did nothing to stop it – nor was she told about what happened. She reports that the following morning she found “lacerations and rash-like abrasions on her labia,” and had no idea how they got there. Later she learned that both the camera crews and other cast mates had witnessed the assault.

On the day of incident in question, Tonya’s complaint asserts that on a non-competition day MTV provided the cast members with copious amounts of alcohol before noon and offered limited food, resulting in her becoming “very intoxicated.” She also alleges that on that same day another male co-star “forcibly removed” her bikini top while the group was hanging out at the pool, which prompted her to retire to the cast’s accommodations where she “passed out on the floor.” It was during this time that the alleged rape occurred, according to Tonya’s suit.

Prior to the incident Tonya states she complained about the treatment she and other female cast members received at the hands of male counterparts and both MTV and Bunim/Murray told her to “just deal with it.”

The Reality Blurred blog also pointed out that Tonya’s lawsuit reveals she actually filed a complaint on May 7, 2010 with California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing, before filing this lawsuit last week. Some had wondered why Tonya waited so long since the alleged incident occurred in late 2009, and this proves she didn’t. In the original complaint, Tonya alleged “unlawful termination, harassment, failure to prevent discrimination or retaliation, retaliation and sexual assault.” It appears she tried to resolve her complaint with MTV before going the lawsuit route.

Well, a rep for Bunim/Murray is, of course, denying any culpability on the producer’s part, claiming “a thorough investigation” was conducted and that investigation “found Tonya Cooley’s claims to be completely baseless.” MTV has yet to respond do the accusations, stating they do not have a “comment” on the lawsuit. I see they take sexually assault allegations very seriously…

So seriously, in fact, that both Kenny and Evan appeared on Challenge: The Rivals, which aired this summer.

The Real World: Chicago alum Tonya Cooley has filed a lawsuit against MTV over allegations of rape.

According to TMZ, Tonya is alleging she was raped and harassed by some of her fellow MTV reality stars during The Ruins Challenge back in 2009.

In the lawsuit filed against MTV, Bunim/Murray Productions, and others, Tonya alleges her Challenge costars Kenny Santucci and Evan Starkman “took another male participant’s toothbrush and rubbed the toothbrush around plaintiff’s genitals, including rubbing her labia and inserting the toothbrush into plaintiff’s vagina.”

Even worse, Tonya claims this all happened while she was passed out… and the rolling MTV cameras captured it all on tape.

According to the lawsuit, the show producers knew about the rape, and even replaced the toothbrush, though they never told her what happened.

Tonya claims producers turned a blind eye to incidents of sexual abuse experienced by she and other female castmembers, and encouraged male cast members to “inappropriately touch female cast members’ bodies, including in intimate areas,” while stripped of their bathing suits.

If you recall, Tonya was booted from the Challenge early on after slapping another cast member – Veronica Portillo. I blogged about that episode back in October 2009 and expressed my disgust with the way Kenny and Evan bullied a drunk Tonya.

Tonya is suing for unspecified damages. MTV has yet to comment on the suit. Tonya, who has appeared on multiple challenges, hasn’t done a challenge since The Ruins.

For those of you who still watch, the Real World is back for its 2 millionth season (ok actually, only 26^th) with its newest installment Real World: San Diego.

Featuring the tried and true premise that has worked for over two decades, six roommates live in a house and see how much they can get on each other’s nerves, hook up, party, and supposedly undergo life changes, oh and get real. Sadly, I still remember when this show was only in its 4^th and 5^th seasons!

To prepare you for the excitement and the drama, MTV has released the trailer for the new season. The new cast members are Ashley Kelsey^, Alexandra Govere, Frank Sweeney, Nate Stodghill^, Priscilla Mendez^, Samantha McGinn, and Zach Nichols. MTV has yet to release the cast photos.

Also, to prepare you for the drama, the contract MTV requires all castmates to sign has been released and it includes some very interesting (re: gruesome) provisions, which include allowing MTV to have blanket rights to their entire lives even if their story and the events are misrepresented. Included in the 30-page document are some of the following stipulations:

• All castmates are made aware they may be subjected to: “non-consensual physical contact which could result in which could result in my contracting of any type of sexually transmitted disease, including without limitation, HIV/AIDS, gonorrhea, herpes, syphilis, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), Chlamydia, scabies (crabs), hepatitis, genital warts, and other communicable and sexually transmitted diseases or pregnancy, which MTV is not responsible for. “ So MTV is condoning … rape?

• You may die, lose limbs, and suffer nervous breakdowns. (Stipulation 1)

• You may be humiliated and explicitly portrayed “in a false light.” (Stipulation 12)

• Producers are under no obligation to conduct background checks on your fellow cast members. (Stipulation 7) I find this particularly interesting.

• You agree that you are not pregnant and if you do become pregnant, you’ll tell the Producer immediately–and pregnancy is grounds for dismissal. (Stipulation 38)

• You can’t change your physical appearance during filming, without the Producer’s express permission. (Stipulation 26)

• Your email may be monitored during participation. (Section 20b)

• Normally (i.e. the real real wold) these practices would be considered a “serious” invasion of privacy, but since contestants agree to participate in the show this is all completely legal.

• Contestants promise not to hide from MTV cameras in establishments where they can’t film. The production crew can show up at your personal house at any time to film and/or to take anything they want, as long as they return the objects once production has ended. (Section 20a)

Additionally, MTV’s contract also demands that cast members be at their beck and call for up to five-years following the conclusion of filming:

- For one year after the show’s final episode airs, cast members are required to participate in all producer-determined press and forbidden from engaging in any media (radio, television, chat rooms, blogs) without the Producer’s written permission. (9)

- The Producer holds the authorship and copyright to every photograph, email, website, sound or video recording, documented performance created in relation to the program, on every medium imaginable. (8)

- You’re obligated to participate in a Reunion Special for up to five years after the show ends, you’ll be paid $2500 for your involvement, and the Producer only has to give you 14 days notice. (50c)

- You’re required to participate in book or home video projects for two years after the show ends, and you’ll be paid $750.00 for each one. (50f)

You can view the full contract here. Personal aside: I’ve spoken to reality TV producers that work for other networks and have worked for MTV, they informed me this is a fairly standard contract for reality television participants. It makes you wonder if having your 15-minutes of fame is worth it…

Dustin Zito is now speaking out weeks after his roommates on the Real World discovered his shocking gay porn past on the show. In a new interview, he opens up some more about his porn past, why he did it, and why he’d do it all over again.

When asked why he failed to tell his roommates, including girlfriend Heather Marter, about his past, Dustin states he simply never thought his secret would get out the way it did. “[The site was] going to take care of me. And I was like ‘This is a small website. It doesn’t even end in dot-com,’” the intelligent Dustin, 25, tells UsWeekly.

Dustin once again claims he went into porn because he had nothing else to do in his small hometown. “All my friends had gone to college, but I couldn’t afford it, and I couldn’t find a cool job,” the Rayne, La. native says. “Fratmen called me with this offer. I was paid, and they also paid for my flight, my meals, my clothes…I was like ‘All you want me to do is get naked and be in this video? Jesus, this sounds too good to be true, ” adds the smart Dustin.

He also reveals that what started with simple masturbation scenes eventually progressed into “softcore” oral sex. He says he wasn’t worried in the beginning because “the site doesn’t make you look sleazy. It’s sort of classy. The videos are shot cinematically.” Though Dustin attempts to downplay his gay porn past as just engaging in oral sex, there were pictures of him floating on the internet showing he did way more than that, as in he went all the way with his porn costars.

And today Dustin, who admits his family was unaware about his past, makes it clear he has no regrets about what he did. “People think I was manipulated? People are crazy! I made my own decisions. If I could go back, I probably would have done the same thing,” says Dustin.

Moving right along. A new episode of the Real World: Las Vegas airs tonight on MTV at 10/9c. On the 11th episode this season, the roommates take a vacation to Cancun, but there’s trouble in paradise when tensions between Dustin and Mike-Mike come to a head.

Dustin explains that he initially came to Las Vegas hoping for a wild time and looking for anything but a relationship. He says, “In the beginning, I’m telling myself, don’t do this, it’s Vegas. But, you know, grandma’s watching this! I don’t want to be coming home with a different girl every night!”

He continues by saying that while he tried to ignore their chemistry at first, it became increasingly difficult. Dustin recalls, “With Heather, I could fight that initial attraction. But living with her, seeing her 24/7, of course I’m gonna develop feelings for her because she’s an awesome girl. By the second or third episode we’re together- but what people don’t know is that we had a lot of talks. We took our time. We both came into the house with that same mindset that we can do whatever we want. But we couldn’t fight it. We were naturally attracted to each other.”

So far this season it seems that the two are quite a match. However, does their relationship come to a screeching halt when Heather discovers the skeletons in his closet? Dustin admits, “Heather is an amazing girl. She’s exactly what I would hope for,” but he plays coy when asked if the couple survives his secret past being revealed. Like any good reality star who knows it’s all about viewership, he responds, “That’s one of those things where you’re just going to have to watch. I won’t comment on it, because it’s such a big deal.”

And watch we will. In a teaser posted on mtv.com, we learn that this week Dustin’s porn history is revealed, shocking his cast mates and friends, and potentially ending his relationship with Heather. Ousted roommate Adam Royer is still in contact with housemate and hook-up Nany Gonzalez, and we can only assume he is no longer in the mtv created bubble that shields the cast from most forms of technology. During a very telling phone call (where Dustin and Heather are in the background getting cozy), Adam informs Nany that several people have been hitting up Dustin’s blog with comments about his past.

Curious, Adam googled his former cast mate and learned that not only was Dustin in porn, but while in the “industry” he went by the name Spencer. Stating he didn’t snoop much more, Adam asks Nany not to tell Heather of his discovery. It seems that at this point Adam is unaware that it was gay porn. Nany shares the information with roommate Naomi Defensor and the girls have a good laugh over this new revelation. Will they be able to keep the news from Heather? Obviously not….so the better question is, how will she react? I guess we shall see soon enough…

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON TONIGHT’S EPISODE? IS DUSTIN WRONG FOR NOT TELLING HEATHER ABOUT HIS GAY PORN PAST? SHOULD HEATHER CONTINUE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM?

Anyone watching Real World: Las Vegas has known two things from the beginning. One, poor Mike is going to be the only one not doing the hippity dippity with a roommate; and two, Adam’s violent, drunken behavior and lack of remorse for his actions was going to get him into trouble sooner rather than later. Oddly enough, when Adam was finally evicted from the Hard Rock hotel, it was fellow roommate Dustin Zito’s comments regarding Adam’s potential replacement that ultimately led to controversy.

Dustin is the boyishly handsome, Southern charmer who has managed to get along well with his roommates (save for a lame bull-riding argument with Mike), wooed petite Heather into a PDA-filled relationship, and seems to have genuinely been trying to work on bettering himself during this experience…UNTIL. You may be asking, until what? Well, I’ll tell ya. Concerned at the prospect of having a gay male roommate replace Adam, he worries “[with] a gay dude I would just be like, hey don’t be sniffing my underwears man. I sniff girls underwears!” He later remarks , “Over the years, you get a level of paranoia. You’re walking and you see a gay person and you get nervous. And some of them approached me and I’m like, dude, you gotta back this up.” WHAT? I’ll tell you what needs to back up, Dustin…your homophobic attitude.

What makes his comments even more ridiculous is the fact that Dustin used to work in the gay porn industry. True story. You can see some of those NSFW porn photos here. I am not judging his choice of livelihood, but it makes me even more shocked that he would say such a thing. In an interview with Ology, Dustin tries to defend his comments and shed some light on his former career. I will now take some bass out of my voice and gingerly step down from my soapbox so you may enjoy some excerpts from that interview below.

Ology: What about your past in gay porn?

With the porn, it was one of those things where I was so scared to tell people right off the bat. I knew that if I did, it wasn’t going to end well. People were gonna put me in a category. I mean, first of all, Heather would have never talked to me. We would have never dated. Leroy and I would have probably never been friends; he would have passed me as the gay roommate right off the bat, because of [what I did]. The cast mates even admitted it, they were like, look if you were to come in and tell me straight off the bat I probably would have judged you; I probably wouldn’t have taken you for who you are. My whole scheme of telling people was: when was the right time?

Just me in general, you look at me and you don’t think that I would have done any of that. Even while I was doing it, people were like, “what are you doing? You don’t look like the type of cat who would do something like that.” I hate having to hide. I always have a smile on my face. I was always the most positive person in the room. And at 19 years old… I didn’t know what I want to do. I didn’t know anything. So I took that route… I just got riled in. It was supposed to be one of those things where you for a couple weeks and then you go back home.

How long were you there for?

Three years. It was a good while! It all started with the [Fratmen] video. And then the Fratpad opened, and I was one of the original cast members. So going into the Fratpad… nobody knew where that was gonna go. The first month there, I didn’t even take my clothes off. It was one of those things that was gradual. For the first month, you kinda just scope out the situation, chatting with the members. And then the bar gets raised. And over time, you get a comfort level of what’s going on. A lot of people think it was just one of those things where I threw all my inhibitions into the wind. It wasn’t… It was a gradual thing I grew with.

So it’s just entertainment?

I’m not trying to cover anything up- is it that hard to grasp the concept that I’m comfortable enough with myself to do something with another guy for money? Is it that impossible? Can you not understand? Can your mind not fathom? The way I am… I guess I’m just a real comfortable person. And I don’t look at myself or put a stamp on my personality like “oh I’m gay because I did gay porn.” That has nothing to do with it.

So do you consider yourself 100% straight?

I AM 100% STRAIGHT! I have no desire to do anything with a guy! I’ve never had that desire. I don’t look at guys as attractive. A lot of people give me a lot of sh*t, but I don’t, I really don’t. People say to me, “but you did it!”, “I would never do this,” or “I would never do that.” And I’m like, ok, so YOU would never do it. So don’t do it! But don’t get on me about it. If there’s one person who knows they’re straight, and knows that they like girls, and they don’t like guys… it’s me! It’s just that I’ve done things with guys. And I know that I’m just not into it. I’m into chicks!

Can you tell us if you and Heather are together today?

(Laughs) I would rather not! I can say is that it’s extremely complex, and it’s one of those things that you have to watch break down in front of you. Even if I tried to describe it, it wouldn’t sound right without watching it.

And when a fan on twitter called him out on his homophobic comments, Dustin replied, “That was misunderstood! Due to my past I get alot of aggressive approaches towards me! I am not Homophobic in the least bit!” Moving on to tonight’s new episode of the Real World titled “Cooke Monsters.” With Adam gone, a new roommate arrives and she immediately sets her sights on Dustin, dividing not only the girls, but the guys as well. It airs tonight on MTV at 10/9c.

Once upon a time, before the Jersey Shore became a huge phenom, there was a little show called The Real World.

Yes, the Real World returns tonight on the MTV network for it’s 25th season! And what better way to highlight season 25 than to have the cast return to Las Vegas. Remember the first season 12 Vegas cast with Steven, Trishelle, Alton, Irulan, and others?

Well, the new Vegas cast has some pretty big shoes to fill though it seems that shouldn’t be a problem as this season includes a well-stocked liquor cabinet and a male gay porn star among the cast. But get this, as it seems the cast member Dustin Zito, is apparently “straight” and simply “gay for pay.” Part of the press release is below -

“As the season progresses, the roommates get to know each other, divulge secrets about themselves, and experience the ups and downs of life while living at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Everything in Vegas this time around is on a grander scale, and that will come across loud and clear this season,” said MTV in a press release. “Romance amongst the cast members is at an all time high, as secrets are revealed and relationships are challenged. While some relationships will fail, others will emerge stronger and deeper.”

Heather Marter, 21 – Delran, NJ

This Hispanic firecracker did her best to steer away from the troubled streets, but Naomi’s parents weren’t so successful. Although her mother’s irresponsibility caused Naomi to become emotionally hard and defensive, Naomi has realized she needs to work on this and has grown to really value and cherish relationships with people.

Michael Ross, 23 – College Park, MD

Michael is an outspoken Libertarian, world hunger solution advocate, beer pong pro, and all around nice guy from Nokesville, VA. At a first glance, he may seem like a typical small-town guy, however, Michael’s background is anything but typical. As a child, Michael’s parents were heavily involved in drugs and served jail time, leaving him to live with his grandparents, then his stepmom, then back to his dad after his stepmom’s house burned down. Michael hopes to shed off his small-town skin in Vegas and party with his new roommates, although whether or not they will get along is anybody’s guess.

Nany Gonzalez, 21 – Jamestown, NY

Nany is a strikingly beautiful, Hispanic-American, sweetheart who was a popular athlete and dancer for a semi – pro hockey team throughout college. Normal as that sounds, her childhood was anything but. Nany’s father was jailed on drug charges before she was born; and although she hopes one day to find him, they’ve never even met. With the help of her now-sober mother and supportive stepfather, Nany is looking to escape her small town and build a better life for herself. She’s currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and wants eventually to become a parole officer. Although Nany has a boyfriend she’s been seeing on and off for 6 years, the relationship is rocky. Arriving in Vegas she just wants to let loose and see what the city has to offer.

Leroy Garrett, 25 – Detroit, MI

Leroy was 10 years old when he and his sisters were suddenly taken away from their birth mother for her alcoholism and drug abuse. Although Leroy’s foster parents practiced ‘tough love’ and even used their hand to teach him a lesson, Leroy has continued to keep a positive outlook toward making a better life for himself. Without a college education or a secure family, Leroy learned to become entirely self-reliant and credits his past experiences with making him a better man. He also prides himself on his indescribable ‘system’ of picking up girls, which is really just starting with the hottest girl in the room and working his way down until finally sealing the deal. It doesn’t hurt that he looks like a professional athlete, and might on occasion pretend to be one in order to get a girl. Will the girls in Vegas fall for it?

Dustin Zito, 24 – Rayne, LA

With his boyish charm and southern gentleman demeanor, Dustin seems like the nicest roommate in the house; but you’d never expect a history quite like his. Originally from a small town in Louisiana, Dustin grew up with a bi-polar, drug addicted mom and an abusive step-dad. Although he was constantly shuttled between parents, relatives and various friends’ houses, Dustin worked hard to maintain relationships with his family. Dustin is known by his friends to be a highly competitive guy who sometimes uses his southern hospitality and good looks to win attention from the ladies. Dusting has also has worked as an actor in the adult film industry.

TMZ is reporting that former MTV Road Rules castmember Abram Boise was arrested over the weekend in Massachusetts, after urinating in public. He was charged with two counts of defacing property and one count of indecent exposure.

This story however takes a turn for the gross when Abe proceeded to pee on the floor of his cell. Oh but it gets worse. The cops moved Abe to another jail cell, after which he then defecated in his hands and smeared it on the cell wall.

Sources close to Abe now tell TMZ he did what he did because he felt the cops were treating him like crap, pun intended.

Abe felt he was “targeted” by police on the night he was arrested for peeing in public because he was one of several people relieving themselves in a bar parking lot after the toilets inside broke down. Abe also told friends he felt the cops targeted him because they recognized him from TV and simply wanted to make an example out of him. Abe also claims the cops continued to taunt him while he was in his jail cell.

Abe was arraigned on Monday and pleaded not guilty to 2 counts of defacing property. He is due back in court May 5th.

Well if you’re Michele Noonan from Big Brother 11,  Heat from I Love New York,  Pumkin from Flavor of Love or Dunbar from Real World: Sydney, you sign up for a Playboy reality TV show titled “Foursome.”

TMZ is reporting today that the foursome will appear on the Saturday night season premiere of the show.  The show, which airs on the Playboy channel, typically features a group of four strangers engaging in naked activities while the cameras roll.

Sources close to the production of the show also tell TMZ Michele and Heat ended up having sex in front of cameras.  While the sources didn’t reveal what exactly went down with Pumkin and Dunbar, they do tell TMZ one of them ended up having sex on camera as well with a non-reality star.
