Bethenny Frankel is the ultimate conundrum – she doesn’t want anyone in her personal business, yet she won’t she stop talking about her personal business! In her latest confessional interview Bethenny talked marriage, spinoffs, and why listening to other people is a big ole mistake. While her acrimonious divorce from Jason Hoppy remains on-going, Bethenny admits she should have followed her gut and not the paycheck Bravo was dangling in front of her nose and never said “I do!”
Speaking to NYU alumni at a special event, the Real Housewives Of New York star talked lessons she’s learned and deterred others from caving to pressures to get married if it’s not the right person. With a 50% national divorce rate, perhaps Bethenny has a point, but I just can’t stop myself from remembering all the talks Bethenny did about finding your happy and the one and how waiting for Jason was the best thing ever. So, if she knew all along Jason wasn’t the one, what was all that about?
Ironically, Bethenny, who got a degree in psychology from NYU, told an inquiring audience member that she always knew her marriage would fail “I think my instinct and gut going into my marriage [knew] it would turn out the way it did,” she confessed. “I could feel it, but I intellectualized it. People are always talking about ‘Do I go with my head or my heart?’ Go with your gut.” That’s so interesting to me… maybe it was a self-fulfilling prophecy then, Bethenny.
According to the documents, Bethenny had a net worth of $22 MILLION, with assets valued at nearly $612,000, when she and Jason signed their prenup in 2010. And this was before Bethenny sold Skinnygirl for a reported $100 million. At prenup time, Jason was reportedly worth $475,000.
Two years later, Bethenny‘s gross annual salary was listed as $4,011,726 on her W2 forms. At that time, Bethenny and Jason each had their own checking and savings accounts, a joint checking account, a joint brokerage account, and a 529 college savings account for their daughter Bryn.
Absolutely nothing the public says can get Bethenny Frankel rattled these days, she says. A hot-and-cold figure as a returning cast member of the Real Housewives of New York this season, Bethenny has “given up caring what people think of her,” according to Page Six. “The line for my personal private life has been so blurred,” says Bethenny, that she has basically become immune to the comments swirling around her. Especially when it comes to her messy divorce from Jason Hoppy, who she is now forced to pay $26,000 a month, plus $100,000 in lawyer fees as part of their divorce settlement.
Despite the media’s often negative depiction of Bethenny as a wife, business woman, and even a mother, the Skinnygirl mogul says she’s become numb to bad press. “It’s great because it’s created a Teflon around me that I don’t even notice it. Nobody could say anything bad about me that would really affect me.” Claiming that her persona on RHONY is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get scenario, Bethenny says she not a person who tries “to manufacture who they are. I’m honest, and that’s why I’ve been successful at it.”
Bethenny Frankel better hurry up and get this divorce settled and done before she hemorrhages any more money! In the latest temporary order in her financial portion of the divorce from Jason Hoppy, Bethenny has to fork out another $100,000 toward his lawyer fees and then some.
I don’t care if you love or hate Bethenny and I GET that the law in NY states that the wealthier spouse has to carry the brunt of the financial responsibility, but come on! These two were only married for two years and Jason may *only* make $100,000 a year, but when is it too much? Check out the list of money that Bethenny has pay to Jason since she’s the breadwinner in this short lived union.
”Guess what?” Bethenny Frankel announced on Twitter yesterday, “#iSuckAtRelationships is officially a @nytimes best seller all thanks to YOU! xo.” Joining four previous Bethenny books on the prestigious list, I Suck at Relationships So You Don’t Have To: 10 Rules for Not Screwing Up Your Happily Ever After, Bethenny’s latest endeavor is “filled with a mix of candid personal stories and the no-nonsense advice she’s known for,” according to the book description.
Published in April 2015, its description further explains that “This is a book by someone who has made many relationship mistakes and knows a thing or two because of it. Bethenny takes a deep look at her own dating and relationship history and gets to the heart of the mistakes women make and what it takes to find and sustain a meaningful connection.” The book tells us to “Look for Bethenny’s take on hot topics such as: understanding your man; the dos and don’ts of dating; how to trust your gut; and much more.”
There are bad lawyers and there are good lawyers. And then there are Jason Hoppy& Bethenny Frankel’slawyers, who at this point must be billionaires from handling the multi-year Divorce From Hell the couple is battling out in the press, among other places. Like reality TV.
According to pagesix.com, Jason’s legal team is firing back at accusations that Jason will be seeking more child/spousal support from Bethenny in the divorce settlement. He’s already receiving 10K per month, but some reports have surfaced that he wants more. Not so, say his lawyers. “The recent stories . . . are inaccurate and false, seemingly planted by misguided people who wrongly believe that they are furthering Ms. Frankel’s newly minted effort to cast herself as a victim, like when she recently called herself ‘homeless’ on national TV. Mr. Hoppy continues to work hard to protect his daughter from what appears to be her mother’s inability or unwillingness to put a clamp on uninvited media attention,” commented Jason’s attorney, Bernard Clair.
I think most of us can agree that it’s about darn time that Bethenny Frankel used some of her bajillions of dollars to enlist some public relations help in regard to her image. The once former, now returning, Real Housewives of New York star has always been a polarizing force in her spin-offs, her contentious divorce, a short-lived daytime talk show, and just her personal life in general.
After bidding farewell to the reality show that made her a household name, the skinny liquor maven is returning in the upcoming season, but Bethenny has hired some help in hopes of making herself more likable to viewers. How does one get that job?
We weren’t the only ones tuned in on Sunday night to watch Bethenny Frankel’sinterview with Andy Cohen. It seems Jason Hoppy was glued to her every word and now he’s crying foul and ran to his attorney (aren’t his freaking divorce bills high enough yet?). Jason is considering his legal options over Bethenny mentioning their marriage and split during the interview.
