The ladies of the Real Housewives of Orange County might not know about Girl Code, but they certainly have a lot to say about Mom Code, or in Meghan Edmonds’ case, Stepmom Code. On this week’s episode, Meghan was taken to task by Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge regarding her comments that she wished she was her step kids’ “real mom.” Here to defend her comments, and her HashtagCoolStepmom street cred, is Meghan’s blog.
Meghan begins by assuring us that she and hubby Jim Edmonds do indeed spend time together, also reflecting on the touching funeral services that she recently attended for the late LeAnn Edmonds, Jim’s first ex-wife. “As I write this I am sitting on a plane to visit Idaho for the first time,” shares Meghan. “A highly anticipated vacation for my husband and me especially after yesterday when we watched LeAnn’s family lay her to rest. It was a beautiful ceremony that celebrated her life in the way she would have wanted, but it was terrible to watch my stepdaughters hurt so deeply. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
Shannon Beador is trying to off-load her toxin-free OC mansion. After initially listing it for $12.99 million she has dropped the price by $1.1 million!
The Real Housewives Of Orange County star has been trying to sell the 13,306-square-foot Crystal Cove home for years. Shannon and husband David completed construction on the home in 2012, but by 2013 listed it on the market for $15.99 million.
Rumor has it when RHOC came a’knockin’ they persuaded Shannon to take the house off the market because Heather Dubrow‘s storyline was already about moving and building a new home. Plus Shannon will be Heather’s new neighbor once the Dubrow’s Crystal Cove mansion is competed.
While one former Housewife is downsizing, another is overtaking the OC with her spread of rare marble. Yes, it’s Jeana Keough vs. Heather Dubrow luxury mansion-off!
Jeana, one of the original Real Housewives Of Orange County stars, resided in the exclusive gated community of Coto de Caza, which once dominated the show. Jeana has faithfully remained Vicki Gunvalson‘s next door neighbor, but recently she revealed that she’s renting out the mansion that was once so prominently a part of RHOC! “I’ve decided to lease the house and see where this new adventure takes me!” the excited former reality star gushes.
“I’ve learned to let go. I’m definitely a control freak, but this year I’ve gotten much better with not needing to be in control of every situation,” explains Heather. “I got to a place where I realized, you can’t do everything perfectly – you have to let go a little bit. I’m much more ‘me’ on the show this year because I feel much more relaxed.”
As a “Friend of the Housewives” on this season’s Real Housewives of Orange County, Lizzie Rovsek has shown up in a lot of scenes, but hasn’t shared much about her personal story. In her blog, Lizzie tells us what she’s been up to, both personally and professionally (and even hints that she might be pregnant with baby number three!). She also gives us her take on Tahiti, her feelings about newbie Meghan Edmonds, and how Vicki Gunvalson is “a little hard on” Meghan – which Lizzie can relate to, having been the newest Vicki Victim OC Housewife just last year.
Updating us on her swimsuit line, Lizzie shares, “I’m gearing up for the 2016 Sun Kitten Swimwear campaign. I am so excited about the new collection! I’m also shipping suits off this week for Miss Teen USA. Sun Kitten is the official swimwear sponsor of Miss Teen USA (as well as Miss USA).” She also extends kind words to the Edmonds family after their recent loss. “I want to share my condolences to the Edmonds family on LeAnn’s passing. My heart breaks for Hayley and Lauren. They lost their mother way too soon. God has blessed them with a wonderful stepmother in Meghan and a very loving father.”
Meghan took to Instagram to share some photo evidence that she does, indeed, eat greasy burgers. She hit back, explaining that it’s all in her ‘freak of nature’ genes. She writes, “I eat effing burgers you haters and I eat double cheeseburgers too. The whole dang thing. And it’s sooooo good! And I still look like this.”
“This has been an emotionally taxing week for my family and me,” begins Meghan. “On Tuesday, July 22, LeAnn Huntley Edmonds-Horton lost her battle to colon cancer. Not only was she the mother to two of my stepchildren, Lauren and Hayley, she was my friend. For LeAnn to embrace me as she did is a true testament to her character and her willingness to work together for the sake of her children. LeAnn’s personality was captured perfectly on camera: accommodating, sweet, and overall a lovely person. There are many people who are affected by her death but Lauren, Hayley, and LeAnn’s parents are the ones who are affected significantly beyond anyone else, and I ask that you allow them to grieve as they see fit because even though life goes on and smiles and laughter exist, the pain in their hearts is constant.”
Oh, man. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting exhausted for, and by, Shannon Beador – and I’m possibly one of the few who still really likes this wacky woman! Just watching her maneuver through the painful storyline she’s put on display this season of the Real Housewives of Orange County makes me want to lie down and take a long nap. Where’s the promise of more “upbeat” scenes with Shannon and family? Where’s the “pot of gold” at the end of the rainbow? Toto, we aren’t in Kansas anymore!
In her blog this week, Shannon once again explains – and explains, and explains – why she was frustrated with husband David at Meghan Edmonds’ game night, why she gave Meghan the side eye (but NOT the judgy eye!) about Botox treatments, and how marriage counseling has put her marriage “on the fast track to healing.”
