The ladies of the Real Housewives of Atlanta return tonight, after taking Sunday off, last week. Of course, even after taking a short break, there is no break in the women discussing the recent drama on that never-ending trip to the Dark Continent.
Marlo Hampton opens up to Sister2Sister.com about Cynthia Bailey’s recent comments about the pair not being friends. Does Marlo go on a hate-filled rant like she did with Sheree Whitfield? Not at all! She agrees with Cynthia 100%. So, apparently, the talls aren’t as tight as the smalls…
Marlo tells the site, “I don’t think of her as a friend either. The only reason we communicate is because of NeNe [Leakes]. We don’t have anything in common except we’re both tall and pretty.” And they both have some healthy self-esteem, I’ll bet. Marlo, who describes the pair as “cordial,” admits she was disappointed that Cynthia joined the smalls in gossip, while the castmates were vacationing in South Africa.
“It did shock me that she was talking to them about me,” Marlo reveals. “When we were in Africa together, we did get along. We did talk.”
As viewers recall, Cynthia changed her tune about Marlo when the Neenster joined the group for lunch. Marlo continues, “When NeNe came back around, it was, ‘Oh, I love Marlo.’ She’s a little two-faced here.”
Marlo also discusses her role on the show, saying she knew from the start she wouldn’t be joining the cast as a main housewife. Marlo isn’t even married…although, let’s be honest, being an actual housewife has never been a prerequisite to starring in the franchise. Marlo says, “I knew I wasn’t going to be a housewife..I knew what my position was in the beginning.”
However, rumors are swirling that Atlanta’s Kim Zolciak will be getting her own Bethenny Frankel-style Bravo spin-off, leaving a vacancy in the cast. Marlo isn’t automatically assuming that she will fill that void, stating, “I gotta wait and see what God has planned.”
Also getting her own show is Kandi Burruss, whose show The Kandi Factory airs tonight at 10PM ET on Bravo. In an interview with DetroitNews.com, Kandi discusses her Bravo spinoff and her anger over Sheree’s two-faced actions in Africa!
First, Kandi explains why she decided to take a leap with her own show. “I don’t want people to get confused,” Kandi states. “I’m not a reality star, I’m a business and entertainment mogul who happens to be on a reality show. ‘The Kandi Factory’ will allow me to show peole what I really do. I love helping people and I love making hits.”
And when it comes to her drama with Sheree, Kandi reveals: “I was irritated when I watched the whole thing again.” She, however, adds that she and Sheree are still friends. “I’m not the kind of person who holds grudges,” Kandi says. “I was mad at Sheree for what she did but that’s not enough reason to cut her off and not be her friend.”
Moving on to Kim Zolciak, as things continue to go well for her and her new husband, Atlanta Falcon’s defensive end Kroy Biermann. The Atlanta Journal Constitution’s online edition is reporting that the NFL player will likely sign a lucrative contract extension. Yesterday, an insider close to the negotiations stated that the re-signing was “imminent” and would likely happen within the next thirty-six hours.
Kroy was a fifth-round draft pick in 2008, and the source claims he wants to negotiate a three-year contract. The Falcons, however, would like to lock in his contract for up to four years. The good news for Kim Kroy, is that the deal will be worth between $10-12 million. That’s a lot of wigs!
Meanwhile, NeNe and Cynthia hosted a party in North Carolina this weekend, along with rapper TI. Baksetball Wives star Tami Roman was also in attendance. Photos from that event are below!
On tonight’s episode, the women pack up to head back to Atlanta. Well, all except for Marlo, who lounges, while her poor South African housekeeper painstakingly follows her every command regarding shoebags, carry-ons, and designer name dropping. Kandi and Cynthia discuss tension with Sheree. Phaedra, Sheree, and Cynthia take away life lessons from the vacation, while NeNe believes they will be returning to Atlanta as two separate groups yet again, the talls and the smalls.
Back in the states, Kim is worn out taking care of her two daughters and a newborn. While she has two housekeepers, she is in desperate need of a nanny. Kim gets mad beyond words when she finds Sweetie and Brielle lounging by the pool. Who does Sweetie think she is? She doesn’t need a tan! Kim shouldn’t be charged with going through all of these resumes herself! Additionally, on the NeNe front, Bryson gets arrested, again. Shocking, I know. A new episode airs tonight at 9PM ET.
