Lisa Vanderpump Says The Cast Should Be Able To Discuss Kim Richards; Lisa Doesn’t Have Skeletons

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump is blogging her thoughts on this week’s episode.  LVP touches on everything from Yolanda Foster’s explant surgery to Kim Richards’ shoplifting arrest and more.

She starts off explaining that she wasn’t mad at her co-stars for bolting from the hotel, just at their choice of communication.  “It was promised to be a fun filled weekend and yes, I was a little disappointed when I arrived to be greeted with a scribbled note that they had left. Kyle notably commented that I would like to be in the house too, maybe so, but life is invariably dependent on the decisions you make in the moment and I knew for me to leave would be insulting to all who had hosted us. I wasn’t mad at them, but it would’ve been more considerate to have waited until I arrived, methinks!”

On the subject of Kim Richards, Lisa says in her Bravo blog that it should not be off limits.  “There have been a plethora of opportunities since I was launched into this forum. Surreal opportunities such as many magazine covers that I have embraced and enjoyed every minute of, those entwined with more difficult challenges that result from being in the public eye. So yes, it was my choice to enter this arena, as it was Kim’s when we all signed up many years ago. When Kim was a scandalous headline and Kyle initiated the subject drawing her name into the conversation, of course we should be at liberty to comment on it. I didn’t initiate the subject for sure and I don’t quite understand the hint that I had secrets to hide, or subjects that are off limits. I think for the most part Ken and I have been incredibly transparent, if I had skeletons I think you would know about them by now.”

She continues, “Actually my opinion was largely different to many, I always felt defensive of Kim’s actions. It was one I draw from experience, my personal experience of dealing with the public for years…so let’s say, hypothetically, somebody I recognized and knew to be challenged with addiction tried to leave without paying the bill in my restaurant, possibly the last thing I would do would be to call the police. It would be to gently, diplomatically remove them from situation, realizing their judgment was altered, not to humiliate them with dire consequences. I am not advocating she should be exempt from the law, but…obviously as she wandered out of Target with a trolley full of toys, all was not well with her and making it a public spectacle I believe was a cheap shot.”

Adding, “In this forum when these scenarios come up for discussion between us, you take the benefits and deal with the consequences, we made our business your business when we boarded the train to reality television!”

On Yolanda’s various health issues and her own reactions to them, “Seeing Yolanda undergo explant surgery was difficult to watch. Seeing the bloody, leaking mounds turned my stomach, but it was somewhat encouraging to think that this has to be somewhat responsible for her struggle. I see now as we witness actions and statements she has made regarding Lyme disease, a two foot tape worm, silicone leakage, mercury poisoning — couple that with hormonal challenges women are dealt with at this age, it has to be a melting pot of issues. So maybe in an earlier episode when I said I was questioning it, you now have a better understanding of my sentiment.”

She continues, “As this story unfolds and contentious subjects arise, there are a myriad of opinions from all of us that make this domain a playground for controversy…  For us all to be unanimous, to agree and live harmoniously sounds wonderful, but not quite so interesting!” Amen.

Lisa ends with, “Erika calling me diva was a cute little jab and I embraced it and knew it was innocuous and playful.”
