Below Deck Mediterranean’s Joao Franco has a new lady in his life. And unlike Joao’s last attempt at a mature relationship, he seems very confident in his decision this time. She’s even got him smitten enough to be sharing sentimental poems and quotes about serendipity.
Joao’s current love interest debuted on his Instagram back in November. The two were paddle-boarding in Fort Lauderdale. Since then, Michelle Dicu has appeared with the Season 3 bad boy spending Christmas at the beach and enjoying cozy dates in Manhattan. Joao even dedicated a poem to his sweetheart for Valentine’s Day.
Zimbabwe’s most infamous export left fans cringing with his love triangle antics. It was the highlight of the season. He was the charming deckhand who had his pick of stews. Second and third to be exact. After “choosing” hapless Brooke Laughton, Joao kept flirting with CV embellisher, Kasey Cohen. He was plagued with indecision. The relationship and flirting continued on-shore for awhile, but by the time the reunion filmed, Brooke and Joao were finished.

So will things be different for Joao this time around? Maybe he really has found a compatible person that’s ok third-wheeling with Jezabob. Joao and Michelle certainly share a love for the ocean. In the perfect reality that is social media, Joao claims to have found his special someone. Joao captioned a picture of Michelle kissing him on the cheek with the words, “girl of my dreams.”
Below Deck Mediterranean airs again in the Spring. Joao will be one of the returning cast members. Chief StewHannah Ferrier will return, of course. Fellow deckhand Colin Macy-O’Toole will be back as well. And they will all be joined by new cast members crew members with Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm.
