Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel can’t seem to catch a break. Her custody battle with her ex-husband Jason Hoppy has been extremely volatile. His alleged threats against her have gotten so bad, she recently requested full custody of their daughter Bryn Hoppy. The amount of stress she is under must be unnerving.
On top of that, Bethenny has also been going through several health issues. During last season’s cast trip to Columbia, she had an allergic reaction to some fish. A few months ago, she had another allergic reaction which put her into anaphylactic shock. After, she had vision and memory issues. Now Bethenny has even more health concerns.
In an article from People, Bethenny described her latest maladies. She said, “Just when you thought it couldn’t get sexier, I was diagnosed today with ‘leaky gut syndrome’ and a wheat allergy.” Time to get ready for a barrage of gluten-free Skinny Girl products plastered onto our TV screens!
Bethenny continued, “Could there be a more vile title? That I wouldn’t have put on my dating profile.” Well, at least Bethenny has a sense of humor about all of this. So, what is leaky gut syndrome anyway?
According to the article, leaky gut syndrome, “Isn’t an exact diagnosis, but the precursor to a more specific one. It could indicate that a person has Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome.” Isn’t getting older fun?

I wonder if this new diagnosis can explain the memory and vision issues she has been having. Earlier this year, Bethenny had reached out to her fans on Twitter for advice as to what could have possibly caused those issues. Which I think was a good idea, because you know when you look up health issues online it always says you have cancer!
Bethenny tweeted, “Well tweeps, you’re usually smarter than anyone and I keep researching and cannot find out. Can anaphylactic shock affect memory or vision afterwards? I had 20/20 [vision] and it does not appear to be the case now,” she said. “I am getting it all checked out this week but you have all the answers.”
My advice, maybe she should also stay away from all fish just to be safe? I was pretty surprised when she pulled out a seafood tower for her, Luann de Lesseps and Barbara Kavovit to chow down on during last week’s episode. Regardless, I hope that Bethenny can get some of her health issues under control now that she knows what she is dealing with.
