Luann de Lesseps - Real Housewives Of New York RHONY

Luann de Lesseps No Longer Being Sued By Her Kids: Mother’s Day Is Early!

It has been a hard knock life for Luann de Lesseps lately. No one will ever forget the Real Housewives of New York star’s arrest Christmas Eve 2017 in Palm Beach.  A wild evening that resulted in charges of battery on an officer, disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest with violence and crimes against a person.  A one-woman game of thrones!

Luann also had legal troubles closer to home. Call it Game of Homes!  Luann was being sued by her ex-husband Count Alexandre de Lesseps for allegedly violating a divorce agreement and stealing from their children Victoria de Lesseps and Noel de Lesseps.  The suit arose from a sale of the family’s home in Bridgehampton for $8 million dollars and the star’s purchase of a smaller house in Sag Harbor for $3.1 million. As per the divorce decree, Luann was to set up a trust for the children funded from half of the Bridgehampton sale.  Apparently, she never did.

An article in Page Six reported that new court documents reveal that the lawsuit against Luann has been dropped.  The case was filed last July after Luann intended to sell the house in Sag Harbor in order to purchase a luxury home in upstate New York. The lawsuit sought to block the sale of the Sag Harbor home because legally half of the house was supposed to be owned by her kids.

But on Wednesday a “stipulation of discontinuance,” signed by lawyers for both sides ended further litigation. It was not clear what deal between the sides, if any, had been cut.

This season on RHONY, Luann admitted that she was so desperate to buy the upstate house that she even asked Bethenny Frankel’s ex Dennis Shields for a $6 million loan before he died. “I was fixed on it. I had to have it, I was manic,’ Luann said in the episode that aired last month.

“Believe me, I called everybody I knew for $6 million. There weren’t many on the list, and Dennis was one of them.”

Luann added, “I wanted that house more than anything. I would have sold my soul at that point. That’s how bad it was.”  Um, I don’t have anyone on that list, but I’m happy to hear things are starting to come up roses again for the Countess of Hard Knocks.
