90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Episode Recap: The Mistrials Of Marriage

On last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After, Larissa Dos Santos Lima finally discovered her fate in relation to her domestic violence case.  Debbie Johnson probably planned a party and bought a new trucker tee in hopes of her daughter-in-law’s departure. It’s hard to know how Colt Johnson truly feels about the predicament. He always seems confused. They are not the only couple going through a trial in this episode. There is a blowout fight you don’t want to miss.

It’s the day of Larissa’s trial. She is in fear of losing her American dream. I guess the thought of leaving her controlling mother-in-law and her dough boy of a husband is unbearable. Per usual, Debbie will be driving Larissa to get all of the juicy details to report back to her partner son. If I had to deal with a human shadow every time I needed to go somewhere, it would drive me crazy.  Who wants to feel like they are being watched 24/7?

Larissa finally emerges from the courtroom with Debbie in tow and a smile on her face. Her case was dismissed and she no longer has deportation hanging over her head. I guess now that she doesn’t have that stress, she is open to trying to get along better with her sister-wife, Debbie.

Upon hearing the news, Colt arrives home with flowers for his wife in hopes of moving forward. We all know this case isn’t the only reason that their relationship is crazy. But let’s pretend that we believe they will be a happy normal couple. But for now, all is well is Casa de Colt-ee.

Pedro (Dominican Republic) & Chantel (Atlanta, GA)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Season Premier Recap: The Mistrials of Marriage

Ever since Pedro Jimeno declined to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Family Chantel, things have been tense. Chantel Everett invites a friend who is also married to a Dominican man to go on a dinner date. I guess her family isn’t enough. She needs to involve more people in their marital business. Sigh!

Is Chantel stupid? Or does she not understand that inviting people to judge and chastise your husband, is not a good idea? As soon as they sit down for dinner, Chantel takes the opportunity to vent about everything she thinks Pedro is doing wrong. I don’t think a married man should go anywhere for a month and tell his wife she cannot come. However, I understand why he would want to run from Chantel and her family’s antics. Let’s just be honest, the family Chantel has terrorized this man since his feet hit American soil.

Pedro places a call to his sister a month after she visited and got her weave pulled out by Chantel’s mother. It’s obvious there is still some tension because his sister questions Pedro’s marriage and Chantel’s intentions for their future. Pedro is going back to the Dominican Republic to visit… alone.

I feel so sorry for Pedro. Smh…  He only has a small immediate family. Now that he is married, there are problems on both sides of the family.  I can understand why he would want to spend some drama-free time around his support system, without his wife.

However, a month is way too much time. I think a week or two is a reasonable time to visit and press reset. At this point, we don’t even know if Pedro will decide to come back from the Dominican Republic. It’s clear he is fed up with the family Chantel and their flair for dramatics.

Pedro and Chantel go to see an immigration lawyer about reapplying for his green card before it expires. While there, he mentions his plans to possibly start a business in the Dominican Republic. Here is where things get interesting.

Chantel tries to use having a child and everything but the kitchen sink to deter him. While there, the lawyer reveals an interesting tidbit of information. He doesn’t have to remain married to Chantel to retain his green card status. However, Chantel is still responsible for his expenses regardless if they are divorced.

At this point, the family Chantel is sitting on Chantel’s shoulder because she is now side eying her husband. The only way Pedro could lose his residency is if Chantel can prove the marriage wasn’t entered in good faith. Uh oh, I think “shocky” may make another appearance once the family hears about this meeting. Maybe they will even get that private investigator they have been threatening to hire.

Paola (Columbia) & Russ (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Season Premier Recap: The Mistrials of Marriage

It’s the day of the baby shower and in a last minute f^*% you to Russ Mayfield ’s family, Paola Mayfield gets her nails done before the shower and arrives over an hour late. If I felt my husband’s family didn’t accept me, I wouldn’t be excited to attend an event in their home either.  However, I would want to arrive on time, to get it over with as soon as possible.

Russ’ mom is NOT happy and sees her lateness as rude and disrespectful. This definitely isn’t going to help resolve their family issues before the baby is delivered.

Paola, the diva, finally arrives at her baby shower and is surprised so many people are there early. In Columbia, people don’t arrive to parties on time and they stay the entire day. This has to be one of the most awkward parties that I have ever seen. Several of the people who brought gifts had to leave. Paola didn’t get to mingle before the party ended. Russ’ mom can’t hide her dismay that her daughter-in-law basically just showed up to open gifts.

Paola explains to Russ she felt really alone at the baby shower. In her mind, everyone left early because they had already seen Russ. I guess she forgot that she was extremely late and people may have lives. They both agree to speak to his mother and try to resolve the issue.  But Paola doesn’t know why Russ has such a vested interest in resolving their family issues sooner rather than later. Russ has been offered a job in Oklahoma and hopes to convince his wife to move there again. Good luck with that!

Elizabeth (Tampa, FL) & Andrei (Moldova)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Season Premier Recap: The Mistrials of Marriage

Elizabeth Potthast meets with her dad to find out why he has been standoffish lately. Her father reveals that he is upset her husband, Andrei Castravet doesn’t have a job and isn’t able to support his daughter.

Currently, Elizabeth’s father is funding their lifestyle and providing a nice home for them, rent free. She feels like the help is being held over their heads. If Elizabeth and Andrei want independence, it’s easy. Stop depending on your father for money and assistance. But it seems like they would rather take the money, house and the pool, but still complain about being taken care of as adults. Can Elizabeth’s father adopt me?

Elizabeth talks to Andrei about what her father said in their meeting about them not being appreciative. Steam is practically coming out of Andrei’s ears hearing that his father-in-law dares to want to be appreciated. Maybe supporting another man and his blooming family is normal in Moldova.

Elizabeth realizes she may have played this the wrong. Andrei demands that they move out of their nice home and find another one that he can afford (with no job).  Great job Elizabeth. You talked yourself right into a new place on skid row.

Nicole (Bradenton, Florida) & Azan (Morocco)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Season Premier Recap: The Mistrials of Marriage

Nicole Nafziger is finally going to be put in the hot seat at a family gathering to answer some questions about her relationship with Azan Tefou. She clearly has no real plans other than chasing down this man who doesn’t want to marry her. Poor May, her mother is focusing more on “daddy” than her well-being as a child. As I watch the interaction with her family, I am wondering how does a family who appears to have common sense produce a Nicole? For goodness sake, the woman STILL doesn’t know why Azan was denied entrance to South Korea. How can you not see that as a red flag?

Nicole has finally saved enough money from odd jobs to be able to fund a vacation for her boo. While shopping for healthy groceries (Insert side eye) she calls Azan to update him about her family’s thoughts on them not being married. Nicole also mentions her dad wants to come to Grenada and actually meet the man who has stolen his daughter’s  money heart. Of course, she hopes her father doesn’t jeopardize her relationship by asking him any questions.

Jay (Jamaica) & Ashley (Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Season Premier Recap: The Mistrials of Marriage

Ashley Martson  is at the hair salon in hopes of getting a new look to feel good about herself again. In an ironic twist, she is getting dressed up to meet with her ex-boyfriend and didn’t tell her husband, Jay Smith . Hmm…Pot meet kettle.

Please just break up. I am tired of Ashley whining and holding Jay captive.  The ex thinks the only good decision in men she has ever made was with him. Hmm… it couldn’t be that great, there is a reason they broke up and aren’t still together.

Ashley finally arrives back home after ignoring Jay’s calls all night to hang out with her ex-boyfriend. Jay is not happy that is wife was out with another man without letting him know. This is clearly another way to pay back Jay for getting on Tinder. She obviously is elated that he is upset.

Why are these people still together? Break up and save us all some time and brain cells. Initially, I felt sorry for Ashley, but now I just want to fast forward every time I see her face on the screen. This man is in America with no friends, family, or money and how she is treating him is cruel. I totally understand her being hurt and wanting to get a divorce due to Tinder Gate.  But tormenting him on a daily basis instead of sending him back to Jamaica is bat shit crazy.

TELL US-DO YOU THINK ANDREI AND ELIZABETH CAN AFFORD TO CUT OFF FINANCIAL HELP FROM HER FATHER? HOW LONG DO YOU THINK THE TRUCE BETWEEN DEBBIE AND LARISSA WILL LAST? WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ASHLEY GOING ON  A “DATE” WITH HER EX?
