Recently, Melissa shared photos of her oldest child before her eighth grade dance. And, unfortunately, there were people in the comments with some hate for Antonia’s red dress.
In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Melissa defended her daughter’s outfit choice. Melissa began, “Here’s the thing: she drinks a lot of milk. Her body is incredible, God bless her. I try to keep her young,” Oh. The milk.
Melissa insisted, “I’m that mom that is very strict. I don’t let my daughter out, but she wanted to wear a red dress. All the girls were wearing the short styles, and I let her wear what everybody was wearing. She was very on par, and I know that people are like, ‘She doesn’t look like the average eighth grader.’ And you know what, it’s just who she is. It’s who she is.”

One Instagram user said “She looks 25 on her first marriage and drinks rosé all day.” Another person said “Kids are kids for such a small sliver of time and adults want to make them adults and it’s sad. Yes she’s beautiful but that dress is for a 21 year old at a club not an 8th grade dance.” A different person commented, “A little bit much for 8th grade. What is she gonna wear to the prom? A bikini.” Wow. Who would actually write on a stranger’s Instagram account to criticize a middle schooler?
For every person who complimented Antonia on her look, or even graduating eighth grade, there was another with something critical to say. Still, Melissa doesn’t regret sharing the photos on Instagram. Melissa reflected, “I thought she looked classy and beautiful, and she’s such a well-behaved, amazing child that she can honestly wear anything, and she can pull it off.”

This is true. Even though there are people who thought Antonia’s dress was too short, she really is doing well in comparison to other Real Housewives kids. She is very well-behaved and she’s not thirsty for the spotlight.
Melissa pointed out, “I think she’s done an amazing job right up to the point that she’s never even made an Instagram where people can follow her. She’s all private. She’s not that girl.” She really isn’t.
