On last night’s episode of Married At First Sight, we finally got to see the update we have all been waiting for. Two months after decision day, the eight cast members reunite to talk about life away from the cameras and experts and to reveal if they are still married.
This season we watched the highs and lows of four Married At First Sight couples on a journey to find love. I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t wait to see what happened after the cameras stopped rolling. On decision day, only two couples decided to remain married. It’s time to find out if anything has changed.
Keith Manley and Iris Caldwell are the first to sit on the couch. Iris looks like a completely different person, literally. What happened to our cute bohemian chic virgin? I don’t know if she’s is attempting to look sexy, but I prefer the old Iris. While watching the footage of some moments from their marriage, Iris becomes emotional. She admits she would change a few things in hindsight. Just when I thought she may have realized where she went wrong…nope. Iris would only push Keith to be more open about talking about her virginity. Umm… what?
Girl, everything is not solely about your virginity. Damn! Sigh… There are several things Iris could do differently that have nothing to do with being a virgin. For example, stop having a meltdown, about everything. Refer back to lemonade incident and condom gate.
Things get tense when Iris reveals she wanted to share her virginity with Keith. He tries to explain there were several things that led him to make his decision. Iris’ lack of experience and maturity level were two major reasons. He also didn’t want to be responsible for teaching her everything about sexual intimacy. Girl, he doesn’t want to be with you! Stop trying to make a case for him being the sole blame for the downfall of his relationship.
When asked about the future, Iris confesses she wants to work things out with Keith. But they would have to go to counseling. Keith says he doesn’t know. But when pushed, he responds he isn’t ready to be married and neither is Iris. It’s clear Iris is still bitter about the breakup. She has learned nothing about herself after her time with Keith.

Even after the breakup, Iris can only blame Keith and not see where she went wrong. This Married At First Sight finale is a great example of her problem. No man wants a woman who nags him constantly. Iris, loosen up and learn that not everything has to be an argument. A man like Keith wants to be with someone who is fun and lighthearted, not accusatory and rigid. I honestly think he may have been able to overlook her virginity if she was mature in other areas.
After deciding to remain married on decision day, Deonna McNeill and Greg Okotie are back to give us an update. My favorite couple is still married! Deonna reveals she was actually the first person to say “I love you.” Surprisingly, Greg didn’t return the sentiment until sometime later, when his wife found his sunglasses.
Although they want to have children in the future, they are only expecting a little niece or nephew right now. Yayyyyyyyyyyy! I am so happy to see them growing as husband and wife.
Amber Bowles and Matt Gwynne sit in the hot seat. He looks like he would rather be anywhere, but on that set. Ughh… I can’t stand this man. After deciding to get a divorce, I hope nothing has changed. I would fast forward, but maybe there will be some additional behind the scenes tea.

Matt claims he knew within 15 minutes that things weren’t going to work with his wife. Clearly, he had no intention of taking this marriage seriously. Matt denies seeing other women while married, despite evidence to the contrary. He also adds that he never had sex with anyone other than Amber while he was married. Yeah, and I’m a unicorn.
Amber is relieved and wants to at least have a cordial relationship. Matt thinks they can get there at some point, but for now, he needs his space. On the upside, Amber got a new dog. Little did she know, she already had a dog, he just wasn’t house trained. At least her new pet will give her all the love and attention she needs. The dog will also adhere to her curfew.
To everyone’s dismay, Jamie Thompson and Elizabeth Bice decided to stay married on decision day. I am very interested in knowing if these two finally came to their senses. No such luck…. Although they broke up briefly, the two are back together.
Elizabeth reveals they no longer have explosive fights, but they still have “Caucasian sex.” I will admit that I hoped Elizabeth sent Jamie and his cat packing for good. But by the looks of things, maybe they actually learned how to act like adults. The jury is still out for another 6 months, but hopefully, we don’t see them on the news in the future.
All of the couples come back to set together, for the last time. The ladies admit they are shocked Iris and Keith decided to get a divorce. Obviously, they didn’t see everything the viewers saw.

The couples are shocked when footage plays of some of Jamie and Elizabeth’s crazy fights. Things get very awkward when they try to explain the way they speak to one another. Elizabeth gets so triggered she shuts down and doesn’t want to answer any more questions. Hmm…. maybe I spoke too soon. At this rate, they may break up again, after their friends and family see the entire season.
The spotlight is on Amber and Matt once again. Elizabeth admits she heard from mutual friends about the allegations of Matt cheating. When Matt is asked what he thinks about that, he only responds that he is glad people were there for Amber. Matt is just a gigantic jerk! I believe the cold, aloof person he is portraying on the finale, is who he truly is as a person. The Married At First Sight experts should be embarrassed they allowed someone like this to get past them.
Jamie and Elizabeth announce they are going to move to California. Let’s hope it’s not for any more television appearances. I don’t think I could stomach seeing them any longer.

Someone, please let Matt out of his misery…. He looked like if he had to sit next to Amber any longer, he was going to lose his mind.
All in all, this was a good season of Married At First Sight. We laughed, we cringed, and we loved to see Matt called out on his BS. All of my predictions from episode one were correct, except that Iris would lose her virginity. Stay tuned for the next season of Married at First Sight! There will be a new cast of crazies, they will try to swindle us into thinking are great matches.
