90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days

90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days, gave me everything I needed, and more. There was drama, drama, and more drama! I can’t understand how ignorant some of these Americans are to the countries where they are traveling. I’m not saying they have to be experts, but they can’t use Google?

Rebecca learns the results of Zied‘s background check.  Am I the only one who thinks she should quit her day job as a private investigator? Rebecca probably has her services listed as 80% off on Groupon. Benjamin finally meets Akinyi’s father. Darcey Silva and Tom Brooks‘ relationship takes a turn for the worse.

AVERY, 19 (OHIO) and OMAR, 24 (SYRIA)

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

Avery prepares for her wedding day. Her mother, Teri, pulls her aside to let her know that although she doesn’t agree with the decision to marry that she will still support her.  Omar arrives with some bad news. Before they can get married, they will have to get approval from an Islamic court.  Everyone makes a mad dash to the court to try to save the wedding before Teri leaves the country that night. For some reason, he didn’t know this ahead of time. Is it a coincidence or production magic? Things that make you go hmm…

After racing against the clock, Omar and Avery are able to get to the court just in time. With only minutes to spare, they are able to arrive in time for their wedding. Teri becomes upset when she realizes she is not allowed to be a witness on the paperwork. She also makes several comments that upset Avery during the ceremony. I understand Teri’s frustration, but she has to also be respectful of another culture in their country.

As the wedding continues, Teri becomes more irritated. She feels her daughter is being treated like she isn’t even there. She is struggling with women having a more subservient role to the men.

At dinner, Avery breaks the news that she is returning to Syria with Omar. Teri is livid that her immature daughter is planning to put herself in danger. She storms out of the restaurant after receiving the devastating news. At 19, my mother would have snatched me by my collar if I told her I was going to a war-torn country, married or not. I guess it’s a little too late. Avery makes it clear she is going to do as she pleases.

DARCEY, 44 (CONNECTICUT) AND TOM, 39 (UNITED KINGDOM)

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

The battle of the bobbleheads is still raging on in Albania. Stacey is up two, Darcey has zero. Tom is uncomfortable being a supporting actor in the twin wars and appeals to Darcey to stop being so immature.

The next morning, the sisters meet to discuss the trip. When Darcey tries to ask Stacey to tone down their bickering, she suggests Tom isn’t into the relationship. Darcey bites back that Stacey may need to figure out why she still is unmarried after three years. Huh? Hasn’t Darcey been talking to Tom for four years? Aren’t they JUST establishing a relationship? This woman is crazy! I can barely deal with Darcey.  I don’t need to see two of her in HD.

While traveling to their next destination, Tom gets car sick. After throwing up, he is clearly irritated. He has to ask Darcey for some space when she is all over him in the car. Girl, you should have just gone to the beach. This trip to Albania is going downhill fast.

While out alone for drinks, Tom tells Darcey their vacation isn’t romantic. He confesses the trip he originally planned was at the place his parents got engaged. He expected to have a romantic getaway, with a chance of a proposal. Of course, hearing that, Darcey has an emotional breakdown.

I don’t believe Tom would have proposed either way, but this trip definitely didn’t do her any favors. Hopefully, she doesn’t start begging. Rest assured, Darcey’s desperate alter ego is about to come out and play very soon.

TIMOTHY, 38 (NORTH CAROLINA) AND JENIFFER, 25 (COLOMBIA)

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

Jeniffer takes Timothy to meet her family on their farm. On the way there, she succeeds in scaring him half to death about her father. She even calls him a pu$$y on the walk to the house. As soon as Timothy meets her dad, he challenges him to do some work on the farm to prove he is strong. Well… I guess Timothy may need to go home now.  ‘

Timothy looks like he is silently screaming in his head when he is asked to cut the balls off of an animal. Jeniffer’s dad is not impressed by his performance. Even Jeniffer is confused about her feelings for him after witnessing that display. I think Jeniffer is looking for a provider so she is trying to overlook a lot of Timothy’s quirks. I don’t mind a man taking care of himself, but Timothy’s delicate frame combined with his fear of everything would make me run in the opposite direction.

Timothy calls a friend to get some advice about whether he has been friend-zoned by Jeniffer. His friend advises him to just make a move and see the response. Timothy fears rejection and is scared to do the wrong thing. I can see why. He has literally been called a wimp the entire trip.

While taking a walk, Jeniffer asks how Timothy feels about her. Instead of making a move, he whines about not wanting to be hurt.  After Jeniffer gives him just about every green light, they finally kiss. Jeniffer has her first kiss by a Grinch “Gringo”. I will just let you guys discuss your thoughts on that kiss in the comments. I give it a three out of ten.

Timothy and Jeniffer return to the hotel for him to continue to wail about his fears. Ughhhhh…. I could not be with a man I have that I constantly have to reassure. This guy is just weird. When they got into bed, there is a discussion about what base they will go to that night. Sigh! I guess they agreed on second base and Jeniffer has to be the aggressor. She can’t possibly be really into Timothy.

REBECCA, 47 (GEORGIA) AND ZIED, 26 (TUNISIA)

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

Rebecca is still stressed about revealing more secrets to Zied. Instead of confessing, she calls her best friend/private investigator to hear the results of Zied’s background check. The good news is he has no criminal record. The bad news is he puts an entire jar of gel in his hair like an extra from Grease and his clothes are tighter than an Instagram model’s. Oh, I’m sorry. Those were my cons.

The bad news is that Rebecca’s friend reports is there is a chance Zied is lying about having a job.  His record doesn’t show any work history. Rebecca tries to have faith in her man and dismisses the news.

Rebecca tells Zied that she did a background check on him. She asks him about his nonexistent employment history. Zied explains his boss pays him under the table, so his name will not show up as an employee. Rebecca still isn’t convinced, but makes it clear she isn’t going to allow him not to work in the U.S.

BENJAMIN, 33 (PHOENIX, AZ) and AKINYI, 25 (KENYA)

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

Akinyi invites Benjamin to her father’s church for service and to meet him. Benji is sweating more than a whore in church. I can understand why. Akinyi’s father is intimidating, to say the least. Akinyi’s father didn’t show up to meet Benjamin at dinner because he wanted the elders to meet him first.

After church, Benjamin will have to impress not just Akinyi’s father, but their elders as well. He is becoming frustrated that he continues to get surprises, instead of Akinyi telling him the entire process upfront. I honestly don’t think she knows what to expect either and is just as frustrated.

Benjamin’s meeting is more like an interview than an introduction. I would be nervous as well.  The elders have some good questions that everyone wants to know the answers to. Initially, the group is turned off by his divorce. They consider marriage to be a life-long journey. But he does a good job of explaining himself and receives the blessing to marry Akinyi. Thank goodness.

This man had to ride in the middle of two men on a motorcycle. He also had to stay at her controlling brother’s house. He deserves something for all he has been through. The only issue is that no one is aware that he is broke and there is a customary bride price. I still don’t understand how all of these people who struggle financially can afford to visit other countries to find a spouse. Christian Mingle would be a much cheaper option than this entire ordeal.

CAESAR, 46 (NORTH CAROLINA) AND MARIA, 28 (UKRAINE)

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

Caesar is still in Mexico, alone. He set up a nonrefundable expensive dinner to propose to Maria and now he has to dine all by his lonesome. A few actors hotel guests happen to spot him and ask about Maria’s whereabouts.

He is forced to explain that he was essentially stood up. Never the one to give up camera time, he continues to try and contact Maria to talk. Chile, please this is ridiculous! Caesar, watch a season of Catfish and you will find a long list of similarities. What did you expect from a woman who takes your money, but refuses to meet you for years?

ANGELA, 53 (HAZLEHURST, GA) AND MICHAEL, 29 (NIGERIA)

90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: True Colors

After having a cake thrown in his face,  Michael Ilesanmi is finally ready to throw in the towel on his relationship. But, when Angela Deem realizes she may have lost her victim man, she calls him and asks him to meet for dinner. She actually tries to compare her abuse to him lying. Umm… Ma’am, physical abuse is worse than lying.

If she is so bothered by his supposed lies, break up with him for goodness sake. Angela asks Michael if he is just using her for a visa. He emphatically denies suffering at her hands for a chance to get to America. Well, chile, at this point, even if he is, he earned it!

Michael takes Angela to visit his mother. She immediately asks about their plans to have children. Angela explains her idea for her daughter to be their surrogate. Michael’s mother is worried that her son won’t be able to have a child. She thinks that if Angela can’t have a baby, she should allow him to have a child with another woman.

In Nigeria, the men are expected to have children to carry on the family name. It is also customary to have a child out of wedlock if the wife can’t bear one. Angela doesn’t care what happens, but she isn’t allowing him to impregnate another woman. I don’t know why Michael even interpreted that part of the conversation. I’m surprised she didn’t hit him for even suggesting that as an option.

TELL US- DO YOU THINK AVERY WILL EVENTUALLY REGRET GETTING MARRIED? WOULD TOM HAVE PROPOSED TO DARCEY, IF THEY WENT ON THE VACATION HE ORIGINALLY PLANNED? WILL ANGELA WILL FIGURE A WAY TO HAVE A CHILD BY MICHAEL? SHOULD BENJAMIN AND AKINYI  GET MARRIED? WHICH 90 DAY FIANCE BEFORE THE 90 DAYS STORYLINE IS YOUR FAVORITE?
