Below Deck Captain Lee Rosbach 

How did Simone Mashile get hired for Season 8 of Below Deck? She doesn’t bring much in terms of storyline and she’s incapable of doing her job as Second Stew. She can’t make iced coffee, open a wine bottle, cut a fruit, or carry dishes to the table. For some reason, her “service” abilities are completely lacking. And, no, I’m not referencing her (alleged) lack of reciprocity during that post-vomit hookup with Tanner Sterback.

Obviously, Simone isn’t qualified for the Second Stew role. To be honest, I don’t even think she should be Third Stew. It’s so funny how so many viewers misjudged Third Stew Courtney Skippon’s love for luxury and just assumed she would have zero work ethic. Meanwhile, Courtney is actually good at her job. Who would have thought?

Captain Lee Rosbach reflected on Simone’s incompetence in his latest blog post. He began, “I do think that Kate [Chastain] has valid points where you are concerned. You didn’t know how to open wine, you didn’t know how to make Ice Coffee when it is self-explanatory, and when you went out to check on the guests, you looked at them and because no one asked you for something you determined that no one wanted anything. Well, your job is to ask them, not the other way around.” Seriously. I am well-aware of all these things and I have zero yachting experience.

Captain Lee continued, 2nd stew on a mega yacht should not be having these issues. This is show time, not training school. Not in the 2nd stew position. These are basics that you should have picked up in your first two years, or made it  very clear that you didn’t have any service skills at all so your lack of ability could have been compensated for. Sorry, but you are in way over your head.” She truly is. Most likely, she just wanted to get on the show and become a social media influencer.

Captain Lee declared, “Third Stew should is where you need to be, till you can hone your service skills.” And, that’s actually pretty generous. It seems like there are way more qualified Third Stews out there.

He remarked, “The guests shouldn’t suffer because your feelings are hurt. That’s not what they paid for. Perhaps you should spend more time observing how things are done and try to retain some of what you observe for future reference.”

Captain Lee concluded, “Bubbly personality, had a great attitude, intelligent, very attractive, I really hate to see all those great attributes go to waste. You still have plenty of time to correct some obvious errors and I hope you do and take this the way it is meant, as a way for you to improve.” Yes, but I highly doubt that Simone will ever actually improve as Second Stew. 

TELL US- IS SIMONE IN OVER HER HEAD? SHOULD SIMONE BE THIRD STEW INSTEAD? IS SIMONE TRYING HARD TO IMPROVE? OR ARE HER WORDS AND ACTIONS JUST NOT LINING UP?
