Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby is a Housewife like no other. Mary skipped the RHOSLC Las Vegas trip so she could avoid Jen Shah. Jen is still furious that Mary said that a person in their group “smelled like hospital” after Jen had just returned from the hospital and visiting her ill aunt.
Then Jen said that Mary made an offensive comment off-camera when they were in New York City. Jen alleged that Mary stated, “If I go to a 7-11 and I see black people, I go to a different 7-11.” Mary insisted that Jen was lying.
The one thing about Mary that continues to boggle my mind is that she married her step-grandfather, Robert Cosby, Sr. Mary’s grandmother arranged this marriage to her second husband so that Mary would inherit her churches and business empire. The duo has been married for 20 years and have a son, Robert Cosby Jr.

On January 21, Mary told US Weekly how her feelings for Robert Sr. grew. In a video clip, Mary said, “We were best friends. We traveled everywhere, we seen everything together.” But eventually, Mary’s feelings changed. “I think it started changing into a loving relationship when I started wanting a son … probably two [or] three years into the marriage,” she shared. “And then I just…I got Mommy hungry and I really wanted a son. And you know we tried for like a year.”
Mary continued, “I think that’s when I felt that I knew that this was my life, once I started having that craving [to be] a mom and [have] a family. … I have no regrets; I have no shame.”

But Mary admitted that she was surprised when her marriage was mentioned in the RHOSLC teaser. “I was not expecting it to be dropped on social media. That was more of a disappointment for me because I feel like social media is a place I don’t feel comfortable in,” Mary remarked. How could you not expect it to be mentioned?
Now that the franchise has been renewed for Season 2, hopefully we will see more of Mary, and her feud with Jen, next season. Mary may be odd, but she is reality television gold, and a big draw for RHOSLC.
