Bethenny Frankel Is Organizing Aid For Miami Building Collapse

Bethenny Frankel is one Bravo-lebrity that gets her hands dirty to aid those in need.  Those that run in her social circles may view charity work as a fancy fundraiser or a black-tie dinner.  But Bethenny actively organizes and dispenses necessities, traveling to the location of disaster and being the face on the ground.

B Strong: Disaster Relief is the organization Bethenny founded.  Its first mission was to provide relief in Houston, Texas after Hurricane Harvey touched down in 2017.  Then a highly publicized trip to Puerto Rico which was filmed for Real Housewives of New York when Bethenny was still on the show.  Now, the foundation is focused on helping families affected by the Champlain Towers collapse in Surfside Florida.

According to People, the death toll from the collapse is currently at four while 159 are still missing in the rubble.  Firefighters and emergency workers are digging into the debris in an attempt to find other survivors.  Bethenny posted a video of rescue efforts as well as footage of the building collapse.  She took to her Instagram on Friday to ask for donations as BStrong will be funding efforts for this disaster.

Bethenny posted the following statement outlining details for the relief effort.  She wrote, “today, in partnership with @globalempowermentmission, BStrong is distributing $500-$1000 each in cash cards directly to displaced residents in need from the tragic collapse of Champlain Towers in Surfside, Florida. We’re also supplying the Shul of Bal Harbour and other local community centers our BStrong Family Necessities Kits for the entire community affected.”

Mandatory evacuation in the collapsed building as well suggested evacuation from two twin buildings in the same development that are being inspected have displaced many families.  “The BStrong warehouse is in Miami and stocked with survival kits, lumber, medical, pet, baby supplies food, blankets and relief aid to support victims after this tragedy,” Bethenny continued.

In the same manner that cash cards were dispensed to families in Houston and Puerto Rico, victims of this tragedy will receive money directly so they can make the correct choices for their own situation.  Bethenny wrote, “100% of your donation will go towards $1500 cards to be distributed directly to the victims and their families to give them the liberation and dignity that they need and deserve to rebuild.”

“We have been meeting with families and are on the ground working intimately, immediately and directly with city officials and victims. We are currently coordinating apartments for the victims of this tragedy and will keep updating you as we have more information,” Bethenny described the work being done with footage from inside a warehouse.

Finally, Bethenny pleaded for donations.  This disaster will require vast amounts of resources.  “This is exactly what we do and precisely where we do it,” she wrote, “please help. We can make a difference. You can be part of the change in the world. Xo and thank you.”
