Real Housewives Of Potomac Alum Katie Post Reveals That She Relapsed; Says She Is “Starting Over”

When it comes to my Real Housewives, I am nothing if not loyal. And I mean that in the overly-used and now incredibly annoying phrase ride-or-die type of way. On that list is Katie Rost, former cast member of Real Housewives of Potomac.

Katie was best known for her philanthropy work in the form of being a “ball and gala” girl. So much so that her tagline was that it was her legacy. But I believe that her legacy was regularly destroying resident pot-stirrer Gizelle Bryant in a way that no one else could. Season 1 Katie was confident, poised and took no sh– from anyone.

Sadly, Katie only lasted one season as a full-time housewife. But it seemed as though her mental health wasn’t in the best place. Over the years, she has been very open about her journey to get to a better place. And now Page Six is reporting that Katie has revealed on social media that she had a relapse.

The mother of three took to her Twitter account and confessed, “I relapsed, I had decided to abstain from drugs, white claw and Adderall, and sex, tonight I failed in one of those.”

She added, “I did what I should went immediately to a meeting. But yup, starting over: day 1.”

Thankfully, Katie had plenty of support from fans, who sent her words of encouragement and support. She responded to one follower, “It’s not the end of the world I’m OK. But because I’m always an addict it’s so sad … especially after feeling so bold.”

She took the time to respond to plenty of fans and noted that she is “still standing” during a “tough time.”

Katie recently had a different update for fans. She admitted that after a stint in rehab, she is now working at an organic market. She posted on her Instagram, “Jesus Christ, I started working, like a real job. I just got off of an 8 hour shift working minimum wage.”

She went on to say, “I feel like a real person instead of a reality tv person; I made $14 an hour. Keepin it real.” And I’m sorry (actually, not really) but I love her for that. Housewives, past or present, are known for constantly projecting their wealth and success. Regardless of whether they have it or not. So I have no choice but to admire Katie’s honesty and ability to be humble.

Her relapse comes after telling followers in October 2022 that she had a plan to “kick alcohol and Adderall coping” in a 30-day program. Katie shared in a now-deleted post, “I’m nervous. I’m scared but so excited. We will be dealing with trauma from being sexually assaulted.”

Mental health should always come first. And I hope that Katie can be gentle with herself during her recovery from addiction. One day, I hope to see her back on our screens, better than ever. I’m rooting for you, Katie!
