Love Is Blind, but fans of the Netflix dating show aren’t. They have been quick to call out the “mean girl” behavior of Season 4 star Irina Solomonova. Alongside her bestie Micah Lussier, she laughed while other women in the experiment broke down in tears. Irina even belittled her one-time fiancé, Zack Goytowski. Their marriage was eventually called off. You dodged a bullet there, Zack!
Sensing the fiery rage of viewers worldwide, Irina has issued an apology in true Gen Z style: via Instagram. According to Page Six, she captioned her video as “from my heart.” It’s clear that Irina is in full damage control mode, much like host Nick Lachey.
In the video, she claimed to have reached out privately to “the people that I have hurt and mistreated.” She also said that she is “sorry for the people that watched the show that felt frustrated, angry, [or] hurt by the way that I was mistreating people on the show.”
Showing some self-awareness, the 26-year-old called herself “immature and naïve.” She apologized not only to her ex-fiancé Zack, but also to Micah, Bliss Poureetezadi, Amber Wilder, and Jackelina Bonds. It is unclear whether or not these apologies have been accepted by Irina’s castmates. Maybe steering clear of any future friendship with Irina would be for the best! Fool me once, shame on you.
Unfortunately for Irina, not everybody who has watched the self-deprecating message believes in its sincerity. After seeing Irina poke fun at Zack’s appearance, and label him as a “cartoon character” during their engagement, viewers aren’t willing to forgive and forget.
One fan wrote in the video’s comments section, “What? Sorry..I only heard ‘I’m posting this so I don’t get fully cancelled and this is all about me’ lolol.” Over 3,000 likes later, it seems a lot of people agree.
Whatever you think of Irina, hopefully, she won’t end up needing therapy once the season wraps, like Cole Barnett. The Season 4 reunion is sure to be an explosive one.
