Lala Kent Reveals Why She Was ‘Very Nervous’ Before Filming Pump Rules Season 11

Many of us have grown to love Lala Kent for her confidence. No one can take that away from her, and we’ve followed her evolution over the years on Vanderpump Rules. So, it’s super surprising to learn that she was nervous about filming VPR Season 11.

After Tom Sandoval’s cheating fiasco launched the show to new heights, you’d think Lala would be as eager as ever to get back in front of the cameras. It’s an Emmy-nominated show, after all! However, she explained to Today.com why going into the new season felt like jumping into a pressure cooker.

The looming shadow of Scandoval made Lala “nervous”

According to Lala, Season 11 made her nervous because she felt like the show had hit its peak. She might be right. But, for the time being, there is still plenty of story to milk out of the franchise. Lala still felt unsure about the direction of the show.

“Before we went to start filming Season 11, I was very, very nervous,” the Pump Rules star shared. “I just felt like we had kind of hit the high note, and I was like, where do we go from here?”

Lala said that her main concern was that the cast wouldn’t be able to live up to the hype of Scandoval. After such a major storyline broke the internet, Lala felt worried about what fans would expect from their follow-up season. How do you one-up something like that?

It also sounds like there might have been some concerns about her screen time. Of course, we’ve all seen the clip from the Season 11 trailer where Lala questioned why someone who got cheated on suddenly “becomes God.” When chatting with the outlet about her Season 11 nerves, Lala confessed that she was concerned about Ariana Madix and Tom dominating the narrative.

She continued, “And also, I was worried that kind of the main storyline was in Tom and Ariana’s corner because Ariana, for many seasons, has just been Switzerland. And I’m like, wow, our main storyline is with her, this could be very bad.”

Ultimately, Lala overcame the nerves and is excited for fans to see Season 11. She said she wants everyone to watch with an open mind. We know that’s easier said than done, but we’ll certainly try.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 airs on Bravo, Tuesday nights at 8/7c.
