Lala Kent Was Right to Defend Nia Sanchez on The Valley

During The Valley Season 3, newbie cast member Lala Kent was open about her disdain for Danny Booko’s behavior. Viewers have seen Danny speak disrespectfully to his wife, Nia Sanchez, repeatedly this season.

At times, he also seemed bothered when Nia asked for his help with their baby. When Nia tried to grab a bite to eat, Danny was rude when asked to hold their daughter. His bad behavior resulted in a wave of backlash from fans.

However, no one called Danny out more than Lala.

During the Drag Pageant episode of The Valley, Lala overheard Danny speaking to Nia. And she was not a fan of his tone. “You’re being aggressive and disrespectful to your wife,” Lala told Danny. “I would hate to see how you talk to [Nia] behind closed doors.”

It was obvious that there was tension in Nia and Danny’s marriage. Still, Nia repeatedly defended her husband, framing others in the group as the problem. While most of the cast agreed that Danny’s behavior could be problematic when he was drinking, Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick supported the couple.

During the final installment of The Valley reunion, host Andy Cohen mentioned a comment that Lala made when she was a guest on Watch What Happens Live. Lala stated that she “hopes that Nia leaves Danny.” At the reunion, Danny informed Lala that her “answer incited a lot of hate.”

Then, Lala addressed Nia. “If he is verbally talking to you in a way that is not okay behind closed doors,” Lala stated. “Yes, I would hope that you would go be with someone who babies you and loves you and take your babies and go live a good life.” She added, “Because let me tell you something, I’ve been on the other end of someone who’s like…”

Meanwhile, her co-stars’ reaction was swift. Kristen felt that Lala overstepped. However, Lala didn’t feel that she was in the wrong.

“I understand what you’re saying if you think that … glimpse is what is my every day, but it’s not,” Nia explained. “And you don’t know because you don’t know my home life.” She added, “We have a really beautiful special home bubble.”

Finally, Lala apologized, admitting that all she knew about Danny and Nia’s relationship was what she viewed on TV. Lala called out Danny’s disturbing behavior, voicing concern for Nia based on what she witnessed. Although Lala caught plenty of heat, her heart was in the right place.

The Valley is available to stream on Peacock.
