Emily Simpson has some thoughts on Ariana Madix and Tom Schwartz, but at this point, who doesn’t? With the premiere of Vanderpump Rules Season 11, everyone has to get their two cents in.
From the very moment Scandoval broke, VPR fans had their suspicions. Viewers know there is some element of orchestration in reality TV, so, they couldn’t help but wonder if Tom Sandoval’s affair and the events following had been masterminded by Bravo.
On a recent episode of her new spinoff podcast, Popping Off, Teddi Mellencamp discussed the possibility of a staged, overblown breakup between Ariana and Tom. Emily, the cohost of Popping Off, had other thoughts on the matter.
Teddi suspects Tom and Ariana were “checked out” before split
Teddi asked, “What do you think about the moving on too fast of it all? And did Schwartz deserve that text?” Before Emily could answer, Teddi added, “I also wonder how long … both Ariana and Tom were completely checked out of this relationship.”
Emily responded, “Okay, but if they were both so completely checked out, then why so much hatred? Like, especially towards Shorts.” Teddi laughed and asked, “Shorts or Schwartz?” and Emily doubled down on her mispronunciation for the bit.
Teddi then went on, “I think there was already problems that they were trying to hide from the cameras for a very long time. It’s just my assumption.”
Emily asked, “You’re saying they just kind of glossed over it, hid it, so it makes it look like it came out of nowhere?” For all we know, Teddi could be right. Perhaps Ariana and Tom were ready to split even before Scandoval.
Of course, Emily has a point too. The anger on Ariana’s side feels all too real, though. If everything Ariana’s done up to this point – to Sandy and Schwartz – has all been an act? Then she deserved that Emmy VPR missed out on.
