If Tom Sandoval is a product, then nobody is buying. It was a bold decision for the Lifetime Movie Network to cast the Vanderpump Rules star in one of its features, though perhaps they were counting on people to hate watch.
The public still hasn’t forgiven Sandoval for cheating on the beloved Ariana Madix with her best friend, Rachel Leviss. His restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s was plagued with boycotts and poor reviews as the public voiced their displeasure last year. So it really is a curious decision to have the reality TV star associated with any other project.
The public response to Sandoval’s pickup lines is less than enthusiastic
Not only did the Lifetime Movie Network cast Tom in their film Tall, Dark, and Dangerous, but they are actively marketing him as part of the project.
In an official Instagram post for the Lifetime Movie Network, the Pump Rules star was featured sharing a few of his favorite pickup lines for the camera.
“Do you have a name? Or can I call you mine?” Sandoval stated. “Are you a campfire? Because you’re hot and I want s’more.”
The uncomfortable experience continued with more pickup lines, presented in the most ironic manner as if Sandoval knew exactly how this would be received.
“I must be in a museum because you’re truly a work of art. Hi, my name is Tom. But you can call me tonight or tomorrow. Have I told you what is on the Valentine’s Day menu? It is me and you,” he continued.
Several notable responses included one fan who came up with their own pickup line. “Are you my girlfriend’s best friend? Cause I’d love to cheat on her with you,” she wrote.
Another added, “Nope. I think I need to cancel Lifetime.” A third wrote, “Just threw up all over my car.”
Tall, Dark & Dangerous airs Thursday, February 8. The disgraced Bravolebrity plays the former roommate to the actual star of the film, from whom he has his identity stolen. Matthew Pohlkamp impersonates Sandoval for the sake of wooing Alice (Jamie Bernadette).
