Carl Radke Regrets Comparing Lindsay Hubbard Split to Brother’s Death: ‘Not True’

On February 22, Summer House returns, and with it, hopefully some answers as to why Carl Radke broke up with Lindsay Hubbard three months before their November 2023 wedding date.

With that fast approaching premiere date, Carl reflected on certain comments he made. Specifically, about the breakup when emotions were still very fresh.

Losing his brother was “arguably the hardest day”

During a recent interview, Carl told Us Weekly that regretted comparing the breakup to losing his brother, Curtis Radke.

“I made a comment at BravoCon about this breakup being harder than the passing of my brother, and that is not true,” the Bravolebrity said. “What I wanted to say was just [that] the public nature of all this, and the confusion around what’s been said and all the different back and forth, it is really, really hard when you go through a breakup in such a public way.”

Rather, losing his brother to an accidental overdose in August 2020 was “arguably the hardest day” that Carl experienced. The former Loverboy VP also apologized to “anybody that I impacted or hurt” by making such a comparison.

“The breakup has been really, really, really hard, but I would do anything in the world to take my brother back,” he admitted.

The Season 8 trailer teased a lot of drama between Carl and Lindsay. That included the break-up conversation that the professional publicist accused her ex-fiancé of orchestrating. Carl felt a sense of “relief” with the release of the Season 8 trailer. He insisted that he did not call production to film their conversation.

“I was, in a way, glad it was out. The Band-Aid was ripped off,” he revealed. “But it was also really surreal to rewatch some of those moments that I lived through.”

“I know the reality I lived in and yeah, I didn’t call production to set her up,” Carl claimed. “I didn’t call production [during] Season 5 when my brother passed away and I got a phone call. … We are a big part of this show. We’ve been filming it for eight seasons. I didn’t call production to purposely set something up like that. And it’s unfortunate that she feels that way.”

The news publication also asked if Carl had been in touch with Lindsay recently. He revealed that they initially texted but are “not in communication” now.

“It’s very emotional, obviously,” the Bravolebrity reflected on the future. “I don’t take the sanctity of getting engaged lightly, or getting married. … I just pray and hope that she finds happiness and I can find happiness,” Carl said. He concluded: “I do believe we’re going to be happier in different directions.”

Summer House Season 8 premieres Thursday, February 22 at 9/8c on Bravo.
