Where Does Kyle Cooke Stand With Lindsay Hubbard After Carl Radke Split?

Summer House Season 8 is proving enlightening as to why Carl Radke decided to end his engagement with Lindsay Hubbard. Last week’s episode shocked viewers after the former publicist accused her sober fiancé of being under the influence. She then projected blame onto him and turned the entire narrative around.

Needless to say, their co-stars were also in disbelief. And a sneak peek for this week’s episode showed the aftermath the next morning. Most notably, Kyle Cooke was vocal about the deeper issues between his friends.

As he spoke to Carl, the Loverboy founder compared how he deals with Lindsay with how Carl does. And in that discussion, some shortcomings in the relationship emerged.

Kyle would choose to “fall on the sword” to keep the peace with Lindsay

As the two friends sat down together, Carl thanked his friend and opened up about his “issue” with Lindsay.

“I love Lindsay to death, but my biggest issue as a friend for years is just that she never takes accountability, responsibility. She never owns up,” Kyle explained the challenges of dealing with his co-star as he saw them.

He added that he’s had to change the parameters of how he “deal[s] with her.”

“Like, the way I deal with her is I just kind of — you either fall on the sword, and be like, ‘Yeah, you’re right,’ or you just don’t deal,” Kyle explained. “That’s worked for me, but it doesn’t work if you’re in your shoes.”

Throughout the fight with his then-fiancé, Carl seemed to stay calm and open discussions for resolution. Even with Kyle, he didn’t want to “blame her” for the instance.

“Carl, last night was unacceptable,” Kyle interjected. “I can see you trying to make compromises and sacrifices … Like, you’re basically trying to solve the problem. Last night, she was the problem.”

“This is next level,” he told producers in an episode confessional.

“It scares me, and it’s sad. It makes me sad more than anything,” Carl revealed to his friend about getting married.

Kyle pointed out that a relationship between spouses can’t be limited to one person always taking the blame.

“What worries me is how many times does something go down like that where she’s pinning it on you, when it literally had nothing to do with you,” he stated. “Because that’s a long life of falling on the sword. Like, how many times are you going to do that?”

Of course, we know how it ends between Carl and Lindsay.
