Andy Cohen Threatens Lawsuit Against Leah McSweeney for Cocaine Claims

Andy Cohen is firing back once again at Leah McSweeney’s recent lawsuit. For those unfamiliar, the former Real Housewives of New York star shot a lawsuit against Andy and Bravo with some hefty accusations.

Leah claimed that Bravo created toxic work environments on set, environments that encouraged stars to drink. That was problematic for Leah as a recovering alcoholic. However, the claims of substance pushing didn’t end there.

The suit also alleged that Andy would do cocaine with Real Housewives stars, even acting more favorably with those who joined him. Andy, for obvious reasons, has taken issue with these claims, responding publicly.

Andy’s team calls cocaine claims “categorically false” and threatens their own lawsuit

On March 7, TMZ posted the details of a letter from Andy’s lawyers directed at Leah. The letter renounced the claims made against Andy, particularly any claims related to cocaine. “[W]e demand that you immediately retract and withdraw all allegations relating to Mr. Cohen’s purported ‘cocaine use,’” the letter read.

“To be clear: these allegations are categorically false. Mr. Cohen never used cocaine with any cast member on any Real Housewives show or with any other Bravo employee. The absence of any reasonable basis to make such allegations is confirmed by your pleading itself.”

Andy’s attorneys concluded, “The truth matters. Litigation cannot be used to create fake news. And it cannot be used as a vehicle to spread false and malicious lies, in furtherance of a shakedown. We demand that you issue an immediate public retraction and apologize to Mr. Cohen. Every day you fail to do so only increases the damages suffered by Mr. Cohen.”

A source close to Leah told TMZ that she was reportedly surprised by Andy’s continued hashing of her case in the press. She apparently figured they would let it play out privately in court. Then, a source close to Andy countered with “Of course, Andy should defend himself in the public with the truth. Why should she be allowed to spew lies about his character?”
