Why Mauricio Umansky Addressed Marriage Issues on Buying Beverly Hills

Mauricio Umansky and his daughters are gearing up for Season 2 of their Netflix series, Buying Beverly Hills. In addition to selling multi-million dollar homes this year, the real estate tycoon will share more about his family, including his marriage to Kyle Richards and their challenging year together.

Fans saw a glimpse of their issues during the latest season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, in which Kyle defended herself against Sutton Stracke, Garcelle Beauvais, and her (ex) bestie Dorit Kemsley. The finale episode and reunion showed Kyle revealing that Mauricio did something that caused her to lose trust in him. However, she never revealed the details.

Despite that, Bravo fans won’t have to wait for next year to see if the OG will shed more light on her marriage to Mau. He’s doing it himself. During a chat with People, the reality star spoke about the last year of marriage and why they chose to film amid the madness.

Mauricio and Kyle wanted to keep it 100% real for Buying Beverly Hills Season 2

Although we don’t know how this past year was for the married couple, Mau isn’t denying that they had challenges. “There were definitely challenges,” he said. “It was happening; it was real life.”

As for the cameras, Mau said they kept “the cameras on” because they wanted to be authentic rather than pretending their issues “weren’t happening.”

“I think that would’ve been awkward on television.”

“The reality is that we are going through our issues after being married for 28, 29 years. We did it and we chose to put it on camera and it was great, and now the audience gets to see the way that we interacted with each other.”

Mau finished by saying the issues he faced with his wife are nothing short of normal. Such is the case when you’ve been married for nearly 30 years. In fact, he said they are “real life issues that happen all the time.”
