It feels like everyone in the Vanderpump Rules crew, past and present, has benefitted from Scandoval. An appreciation, of sorts, for Tom Sandoval’s affair with Rachel Leviss is due to much of the cast having made money off of merch, business deals, and in the case of Jax Taylor, a spinoff show.
Yes, even a VPR alum who was fired from the show in 2020 has made bank off of Sandoval’s misfortune. At least Jax is appreciative. But what does he have to say about Scandoval seemingly plucking him from obscurity to return to Bravolebrity status once again?
Jax thinks Scandoval “pushed” the timeline on The Valley
Jax and his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, returned as reality TV stars in a hotly anticipated VPR spinoff called The Valley. They spoke about its recent premiere during the March 19 episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast.
The former Vanderpump Rules couple also believes that the public interest in Scandoval influenced Bravo’s decision to speed up production on The Valley.
The Jax’s Studio City owner revealed that shared his appreciation with Sandoval himself during a 2023 interview with the disgraced reality TV star.
“I go, ‘Listen, I’m not going to lie, I got to really appreciate what you did,’” Jax recalled. “‘I appreciate the fact that you brought me back to life a little bit,’ I had to humble myself and tuck my tail between my legs. Because I think [‘The Valley’] would have took off, eventually. But I think you pushed a little quicker than it needed to be.”
According to the father-of-one, Sandoval seemed jealous of his success.
“He’s like, ‘Yeah. I know. You’re not the only one. Everyone’s banking off of this. Except for me,’” Jax added.
The Bravoebrity added that he “needed a little bit of a break” from reality TV after leaving the show that made him famous. Yet, Jax was itching to get back into the game, citing the stress of “not having a job” during his 2-year-old son, Cruz’s birth as a major factor in wanting to go back to work.
Brittany recently announced her separation from Jax, claiming she needed space. They may or may not work things out in their marriage. Stay tuned.
