Erin Lichy Reveals Why She Said Dorit Kemsley Could Have Been ‘Friendlier’

Bravolebrities are perhaps the most dramatic collection of people in any realm. So, it wasn’t at all shocking when Erin Lichy of Real Housewives of New York said in an interview that Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were less-than-friendly when she met them at BravoCon 2023.

Now four months after BravoCon, Erin provided more context for what she said about Dorit, and she wants to takesie backsie-ing ever including Kyle in this whole non-event.

Erin was disappointed that Dorit wasn’t friendler because they had previously spoken

Erin was a guest on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast on March 25, where he asked her to elaborate on her previous Kyle and Dorit comments.

Erin explained, “I did not say rude, just to clarify. I did not think that they were rude, I said I thought that they could be friendlier. And there is context there.”

Erin says she and Dorit had connected through a group chat before BravoCon, so her coldness was unexpected.

“We were all connected. We heard each other’s voices, we spoke,” she explained. “So I thought we had this sort of underlying connectivity, like we knew each other. So when I saw her, and it happened twice. ….I saw her walking in the hallway, and I was like, ‘Hey, oh my gosh, hi.’ Like, everybody else was so friendly.”

She added, “I was like, ‘Hi, how are you?’ And I thought, you know, we’d have a chat,” she said. “And I think probably Kyle says hi to everybody, whatever. But I think it was more like, okay, Dorit and I know each other. We’re both Israeli.”

Later in the interview, she gave more detail. “[Dorit] smiled at me, but it was so blank. And I was like, oh, we have this stuff in common, and we’re both Jewish, we’re both on the show. We’re both from big cities. I don’t know. Maybe it’s weird that I feel connected to other Jewish people on Bravo, but I do. I mean, everybody else on that chat said hi to me.”

Erin also wondered if Kyle and Dorit just didn’t recognize her, or if Dorit’s PTSD caused her to not “want to interact with people.”

Erin regrets including Kyle in any of this

Erin now thinks she “probably shouldn’t have looped Kyle” into the whole thing since they’d never interacted before.

“It really shouldn’t be pinned on Kyle. I don’t know her at all. I know her zero amounts. Let’s remove Kyle from the equation because I don’t think she’s part of it…We’ve never met. We’ve never spoken. I know her so little. I’ve just seen her now at BravoCon,” Erin explained.

Erin spent half of her debut season pettily roasting Jessel Taank’s husband for his innocent hobby of flying to Vietnam for bánh mì sandwiches. She probably could’ve been friendlier about that.
