Clearing the air. Lala Kent and Ariana Madix recently had a very public falling out as Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules drew to a close.
On the show, Lala seemed to be less than supportive of her castmate’s breakup situation, calling Ariana hypocritical on multiple occasions. Ariana’s refusal to film with ex-partner Tom Sandoval but continue to live with him just didn’t sit right with Lala.
Given the overwhelmingly positive response to Ariana post-Scandoval, fans accused Lala of being jealous of Ariana’s success. And for being “Team Sandoval.” Lala set the record straight on a recent Amazon Live.
Lala has “never been close” with Sandoval
When it comes to viewers’ claims that Lala is a Sandoval sympathizer, Lala firmly disagrees. “That’s what’s so wild. I didn’t jump on the Sandoval train,” she stated. “We don’t talk. I didn’t jump on anyone’s train. I think this was the first time that it was kind of, like, just seeing all sides.”
The longtime VPR star went on to say that she has “never been close” with Sandoval either.
“This was a healing process for me, being like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna let that stuff go. I don’t want to see you or hear your name and want to light you on fire.’ You know? We’re not hanging out, I’m not going to his house,” Lala explained.
The expectant mother continued: “A huge reason why I didn’t show up to a lot of his things was because, whether you guys believe it or not, I would always choose Ariana. You were in the wrong. There may be things with Ariana that don’t make sense to me, but I’m sticking with her. I’m not coming to your fricken’ concert, OK? I didn’t go to your concerts before. Why would I want to go now?”
As for what Lala thinks of Sandoval now, she portrays a cool indifference. “He’s not … He’s there… with his new girlfriend. That’s it,” Lala concluded.
The Vanderpump Rules reunion continues Tuesday at 8/7c on Bravo.
