Is Lala Kent Acting Like a Flip Flopper, or Has She Just Changed as a Person?

Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules has shown everyone taking sides after the fallout of Scandoval. But none are more vocal than Lala Kent. She has opinions. Sometimes, it feels like she may be talking out of both sides of her mouth, and there are accusations of Lala being a flip flopper. But, this could actually all just be part of her journey. People change, whether they’re reality TV stars or not. Let’s take a look at the evidence.

Lala reached out to Rachel

For years, there didn’t seem to be much love lost between Lala and Rachel Leviss. The mother of one called Rachel every name under the sun, including a “Bambi-eyed b*tch.” She even slept with her fiancé.

During the premiere episode for Season 11, cameras caught Lala reaching out to Rachel via a text. But to viewers, it very much felt like Lala was being used to further a storyline. I mean, you can’t exactly call someone “a dumb b*tch” and mock her higher education, then try to be friends.

Life doesn’t work like that. Lala has defended her actions via Entertainment Tonight, noting, “There were a couple of reasons why I reached out to her. Number 1, it resonated with me that she had been isolated by Tom Sandoval. I know that feeling.” I understand the mentality behind Lala’s thinking. But, there will still be those calling it a setup.

Lala’s friends with Sandoval again

During the cast trip to Tahoe, Lala launched some excessive accusations at Tom. The TomTom owner was annoyed about Lala’s “douchey energy.” On a boat excursion he said, “I did lie about a seven-month relationship. Lala lied for a few years of a six-year relationship. We both lied. We’re both liars. I think in this instance, we maybe just call this a wash.”

After exchanging a few more words, Lala screamed, “You’re insane! I felt bad for you for five f*cking seconds, and now you’re proving to me that you are terrifying … You will not allow me to evolve, and yet this happened four months ago, and I’m allowing you to evolve.” Lala stormed off, telling Tom, “You isolate, you groom … I don’t know you? I think I know you real well.”

But only a few episodes later, Lala headed over to Tom’s Valley Village home to share in his therapy session. What in the goat cheese balls is actually going on here?

In another episode, Lala actually stood up for Tom after he tried to get condiments for their pizza night. She said to Ariana Madix, “This is who he’s always been. He’s always been the guy paying for people’s engagement parties. He’s been the guy to chase down the man for the ranch, but now, he’s f*cked you over, so it’s annoying to you.”

Lala films with Jo

Lala met up with Jo Wenberg for hotdogs. Evidently, the cheese was everything. But it didn’t go unnoticed in a previous episode that Lala watched on at Hotel Ziggy as the other women poked fun. While Scheana Shay laid into Jo for not promoting her work, Lala stood by smiling. She jokingly called Scheana an “icy b*tch” for her comments. Not once did she try to step in and stop the other girls from acting like mean girls.

However, Lala is trying to embrace her “softer side.” Tom Schwartz reached out to her in hopes that a bridge could be formed. So, I will give credit where it’s due. Lala made the effort to grab lunch and include Jo. That’s huge. I mean, Joseph left crying from the bar that night. So, grabbing a bite to eat was the least that could have been done. Jo could at least express her desire to be a part of the group. Lala admitted that Jo was “harmless.”

Bottom line. I think Lala was acting as the liaison between the friend group. In the long run, it will not work because not everyone is meant to be friends. And we’ve heard some teases about the dramatic reunion. But I will give Lala a gold star for trying her best to bridge the gap between her dysfunctional friends.
