Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley were once a dynamic duo on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but the friendship began to sour in the last couple of years. Shifting loyalties, separations, and leaked text messages are just a few of the reasons why the two grew apart. Tension first arose in Season 13, mainly stemming from Kyle’s rumored romance with country star Morgan Wade, and continued throughout Season 14. Many fans lost hope that the two would make amends after viewing the last season. However, we saw them come together during Part II of the Season 14 reunion, so hope isn’t totally lost.

Kyle and Dorit’s feud reached its peak during Season 14. The women entered the season still holding onto previous resentments, which made it difficult for them to move forward. Kyle felt hurt by Dorit’s decision to leak their personal text messages at the Season 13 reunion and Dorit felt abandoned by her friend in the wake of her separation from Paul “PK” Kemsley.
The tension got worse as the season progressed, especially after Dorit discovered Kyle texted PK behind her back on multiple occasions. In previous seasons, Dorit was a bit of a people-pleaser, always opting to preserve the peace rather than saying what she really thinks. But her separation with PK awakened something in her. She’s bolder and she sticks up for herself. She confronted Kyle about the texts and things got nasty.
Dorit expressed her frustration in a confessional, saying Kyle would react the same if the roles were reversed.
“If the shoe was on the other foot, O-M-G, would you be OK with it? I can tell you, hell no,” she said. “So why on earth do you think it’s OK for you to do it?”
Did Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade drive a wedge between Kyle and Dorit Kemsley?
In Season 13, Dorit was open about feeling left behind once Kyle got close to Morgan. Kyle wasn’t willing to hear it, especially since she was trying to silence the rumors that she and Morgan were romantically involved.
“[Kyle] will kill me … But, I feel like the closer she got to Morgan the further she got from me,” Dorit said on a December 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live. “Sorry Kyle I love you but it’s the truth! It’s how I feel.”
According to Dorit, her comments on WWHL upset Kyle and affected their friendship.
“She just decided to not speak to me, and she was enraged,” she said on an episode of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast. Dorit felt that Kyle retaliated by downplaying their friendship in the press and attempting to “silence” her before the Season 13 reunion.
“I feel really, really hurt by Kyle. Now, she’ll obviously say the same,” she said on the podcast. “[Kyle] told the world that the friendship is a lot more important to me than it is to her. That’s the way I took it, anyway.”

Kyle and Dorit dove into their issues during Part II of the Season 14 reunion. The conversation was heated but surprisingly, the segment ended with the women vowing to move forward.
“All I know is that you’re important enough to me to want to put that aside, to not hold onto it and to move forward and to get to a better place so we can be there to support each other, cause we need all the support we can get right now,” Kyle said. “I do love you a lot.”
Dorit was touched by the gesture and expressed a desire to improve the friendship.
“I would love to get together, just you and I, no cameras, no girls, no Andy, none of these people, nothing — and actually sit down and see where we are,” she said.
The conversation ended with an apology from Kyle, who said, “I apologize for any way that I hurt you. And I can see where things would look weird. I understand that. I get that. And I really do apologize for that.”
