Many fans are growing increasingly concerned for Brittany Cartwright, who spent the last year on The Valley dealing with her abusive estranged husband, Jax Taylor. Thankfully, the finalization of their divorce is nearing. However, this piece of paper does not ensure that Brittany receives any protection from his vicious patterns moving forward, minus the peace of mind that comes from sleeping alone after dealing with a toxic man for almost a decade.

Thankfully, Bravo has recently realized that they have a ticking time bomb on their hands with Jax. Or, better yet, the viewing audience got to them with their outrage. And now, Jax is not returning for Season 3. However, his abuse has dragged on unchecked for such a long time that in the days that lie ahead, all eyes need to be on Brittany to ensure that she heals and moves forward, sans any further abuses from her soon-to-be ex.

Jax has lived on our screens for years. In ALL of them, he has presented horribly.

In recent years, however, his toxicity has spiraled. Now, every series needs a villain. These characters help to keep the fans engaged and the storylines moving. However, in later seasons of Vanderpump Rules, alongside both seasons of The Valley, Jax transitioned into the number one hard-to-watch guy on Bravo.

The Valley Season 2 reunion started with a bang. Here, Brittany reminded us all that Jax flipped a coffee table towards her, hitting her knee and immediately turning it black. Jax also threw two barstools, all because Brittany had entertained a fling, albeit AFTER they separated, with one of his acquaintances, Julian Sensley.

Then, Brittany admitted that she was shaking with nerves. Emboldened from his first chair position on that stage, Jax decided to threaten her, muttering that she should be. No one on that set clocked him for this. However, the footage exists, so Jax cannot deny that this incident occurred.

In the next breath, Brittany revealed that Jax (allegedly) pushed her into a rose bush. Not knowing that proof of this incident existed on their Ring camera, Jax did what he always does: he denied this charge. Thankfully, many members of their cast saw this footage featuring his abuse, which made Jax quickly shut his mouth onstage.

Jax has lost his spot on The Valley cast and his bar; he could lash out against Brittany

Last month, Jax announced that he was leaving filming on The Valley. Now, whether this decision was his call or not, the world may never know.

“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” Jax shared. He then stressed that, “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting.” While his decision is a healthy one, it arrived after another shocking episode of The Valley showcasing his abusive ways. So, did Jax leave on his own, or was the reaction from the fans so loud that Bravo had to step in and greatly urge Jax to take a pause?

Either way, Brittany also revealed that Jax was now purposely prolonging their divorce to secure alimony from her. Wildly, Jax admitted that this claim was “somewhat true.” So much for his claims that he was leaving filming to be a better human, eh?

In addition to losing his spot on this series, Jax also just walked away from his bar. Again, was this his call? Or, did the owners decide to cut him free following heightened backlash from his abusive showings on The Valley? Regardless, Jax is losing things left and right, and when this gravity hits him, especially once the cameras pick back up without him, he could lash out all the more at Brittany.

Now, Bravo has made many right decisions regarding Jax, to be fair. However, these determinations have only (seemingly) arrived after either their audiences raged, or his abusive patterns were so out of control during filming that they knew they needed to do something.

Meanwhile, lesser-known stars have received an edited-out season following the unearthing of their skeletons. Yet, Jax was able to maintain his role on his cast. Additionally, Jax even scored an additional appearance on Watch What Happens Live, which took place after the world learned about how he had allegedly assaulted Brittany with a coffee table in their home.

For years, Jax has been allowed to behave as he pleases. Even when we learned that domestic abuse was happening, Bravo only aired resources aimed at helping those with substance abuse issues, while providing nothing for victims of intimate partner abuse. Additionally, their producer has even gone so far as to defend his presence on Bravo, which has to have made Brittany, alongside other victims of domestic violence, feel like absolute sh*t. These pathetic responses have likely only emboldened Jax to continue lashing at Brittany.

Now that their cameras are no longer capturing his antics, every incident that happens will be something he can deny. So, all eyes need to be on Brittany in the days, months, and even years that lie ahead. Overall, she needs to be protected and believed. Because, without the lenses of Bravo capturing Jax at his worst, his emboldened ways might now resurface all the more.

But hopefully, Jax will prove us all wrong.

The Valley is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
