RHOBH’s Sutton Stracke Gives Surprising Update on Relationship With Ex-Husband Christian After Annulment

Sutton Stracke’s divorce has a storyline of its own on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She endured a lot in the beginning. But made out really well by the end of it, with a settlement and monthly spousal support to die for.

After finalizing their divorce in 2018, Christian Stracke agreed to pay $300,000 to $350,000 monthly spousal support after taxes. That is separate of the child support. The former couple share three children, Porter, Philip, and James. So Sutton really is the poster child for a successful divorce. However, during the Season 15 premiere of RHOBH, she revealed that her ex-husband brought a new challenge to the conversation by asking for an annulment. She is now sharing the emotional fallout of that decision.

Sutton and Christian Stracke are “good” despite his “sucker punch” request

Sutton revealed that Christian wanted to petition the Catholic Church for an annulment. The former couple had already been divorced for 10 years. The request, if granted, would allow both parties to potentially marry another partner within the Catholic Church. Perhaps it adds a bit more finality to the matter. It was “a little bit of a sucker punch,” for the RHOBH star at first. But now, she has warmed up to the idea.

“Our relationship is good. We met when we were 13. We were friends, and so we’re ending up as friends now,” Sutton told Us Weekly on Tuesday, December 9. “It’s good, but that’s why this season was interesting for me because I have been through the well of divorce.”

She added, “I guess that’s just what he needed in the relationship.”

Being far from the “initial shock” of their split in 2016, Sutton is “used to things” and conflicts arising. RHOBH fans will recall that in Season 13, the star was worried how Christian’s move to London, UK would change their situation.

Thankfully, neither the London move, nor the annulment changed the divorce and settlement agreement. Sutton explained, “We did not renegotiate our divorce. I feel great, and I have a good relationship and my kids are great and happy. That’s the most important part.”

It’s good to know that the former partners can get along. Most recently, Sutton and Christian dropped younger son James off to college in the Fall of 2025. For the RHOBH star, she is happy to be “finally out of” the worst that divorce can offer.
