Kim Zolciak Responds After Temporarily Losing Custody of Her Children to Kroy Biermann

Another chapter has been added to the tumultuous separation of former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann. In a new ruling in their ongoing legal battle, a judge granted Kroy’s emergency request regarding custody of their four children. This was on the heels of Kroy calling Kim “unstable and unfit.”

Naturally, Kim did not take this quietly. She spoke out after temporarily losing primary custody of Kroy Jr., Kash, and twins Kaia and Kane. Under the new ruling, the former couple will still share joint legal custody and retain formal decision-making rights.

However, Kroy has been granted final authority over decisions regarding major issues such as non-emergency medical care, education, and religious upbringing. They will maintain scheduled parenting time and split time between households.

Kim sent a statement to The Daily Mail and took to social media to share her thoughts on the ruling. “The senior judge’s (a ‘retired’ judge) decision from April 29th is temporary until we return to court as soon as possible when we have the opportunity for a full hearing.”

She added that Kroy’s alleged emergency motion led to the order. She claims the decision was the result of a “flawed investigation” by a guardian ad litem who has not spoken to her in over a year.

‘While I want this process to be over for my children more than anything, I am looking forward to a full court date when we will finally be provided with an opportunity to present the truth,” she concluded.

This ruling happens amid escalating tension between Kroy and Kim. Alongside their financial troubles, Kroy has accused Kim of emotional abuse and neglecting the children, demanding sole custody. For her part, Kim has accused Kroy of trying to “destroy her.”

Kroy and Kim have been separated since May 2023. The pair have had on and off again divorce proceedings since August 2023.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is streaming on Peacock.
