It was another busy day in court for Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo. She and her husband, Eddie Osefo, officially have a trial date for their 34 fraud-related charges. After bouncing back and forth on whether to have their cases separated, they’ve changed course again, and a joint trial is now set for 2027.
Charges stem from a reported burglary at the home of the Bravo stars
Wendy and Eddie, who are currently filming RHOP Season 11, arrived at the Carroll County Circuit Court on Wednesday, May 20, for a status conference. According to a boots-on-the-ground report from The Baltimore Banner, the couple was only there for a few minutes, but they got their court date locked in. It’s all going down January 25-29, 2027.
The back-and-forth on the trial format has been dizzying up until this point. In December 2025, just months after their indictment, their lawyers signaled that they wanted a joint trial. In March, they switched course and asked for separate trials.
At that point, Eddie waived his right to a speedy trial. Wendy did not, which meant her trial could have been as early as this summer. Now, they’ve changed course once again. They’re back to being tried together.
The Osefos were first indicted in October 2025. Investigators said they lied about a burglary at their home and submitted fraudulent insurance claims for the allegedly stolen goods, totalling upwards of $450,000. Prosecutors said that some of the “stolen” items were still in their possession or, in some instances, returned to the original retailer for refunds.
Prosecutors have argued that the two acted out of financial desperation, but you wouldn’t know it from their court appearance. The Osefos rolled up in a black Cadillac Escalade, with Wendy tiptoeing into the courtroom in Christian Louboutin heels. Eddie kept things equally upscale, pairing his suit with a Burberry tie. And yes, they were accompanied by a Bravo film crew of nearly a dozen people.
