Brooklyn Beckham has found himself back at the center of Beckham family drama after appearing to reference the ongoing feud in a new World Cup commercial. The social media ad quickly got fans talking, with many convinced the eldest Beckham was taking a not-so-subtle swipe at his famous family.
The timing raised even more eyebrows because the ad landed just days after reports surfaced that sister Harper Beckham had attempted to reconnect with Brooklyn amid the family fallout.
Brooklyn Beckham took a shot at his public family feud in a World Cup TV ad for DoorDash
The DoorDash commercial was meant to promote the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but viewers were far more interested in what Brooklyn appeared to be implying.
In the ad, Brooklyn looked into the camera and said, “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home.” After a brief pause and a smirk, he added, “It’s a long story.”
The screen then displayed the message: “It’s complicated. More soon.”
Given the highly publicized rift between Brooklyn, wife Nicola Peltz, and the rest of the Beckham family, many fans interpreted the campaign as a direct nod to the ongoing drama. The ad arrived shortly after reports emerged that Brooklyn and Nicola were uncomfortable with what they believed was an orchestrated reconciliation attempt involving 14-year-old Harper Beckham.
Photos showed Harper arriving at the Los Angeles home Brooklyn shares with Nicola. However, Brooklyn was reportedly in New York at the time and never met with his younger sister.
A spokesperson for Brooklyn and Nicola later told Page Six, “That photographers were in place as the letter was hand-delivered says it all. This was choreographed for the cameras.”
Sources close to David Beckham and Victoria Beckham strongly pushed back on that claim. One source told the Daily Mail, “It is incredibly sad that this horrible accusation is being levelled at an innocent young girl who just desperately misses her brother.”
Meanwhile, David has continued refusing to discuss the situation publicly. When asked about the rift by Variety, he replied, “To be honest, I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter. That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about.”
For now, it seems the Beckham family feud remains very much a public conversation.
