RHOP’s Wendy and Eddie Osefo Accused of Using Aliases and ‘Approximately 40’ Credit or Debit Cards

The case against Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, is growing. According to new court filings, these Real Housewives of Potomac stars used a combination of aliases and 40 different credit cards to help cover up an alleged insurance fraud scheme. And now, their prosecutors are demanding copies of their financial records, hoping to pinpoint a motive for their so-called crimes.

Prosecutors allege Wendy and Eddie Osefo made a “deliberate attempt to mask their identity”

Last month, Wendy and Eddie stood accused of lying about a burglary that occurred at their house. Following this break-in, they filed multiple insurance claims to help cover their supposed losses. But prosecutors have since called foul on their narrative. So, they arrested and charged the RHOP stars with seven counts of insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one count of making a false statement to a police officer.

At BravoCon last weekend, Wendy explained that she “will share my story with everyone. And for now, they’re just allegations. So we will continue to push forward.”

Meanwhile, the prosecutors are also moving forward. According to The Baltimore Banner, the prosecution team is now seeking additional financial records between the pair. They are hoping to find a pattern of excessive spending, which will hopefully give them a motive for their case against the Osefos.

“The State anticipates seeing purchases as well as returns on the financial records,” a new filing reads. “Additionally, the State expects such documentation to show a pattern of excessive spending supporting [their plausible] motive in this case. The State avers that insurance fraud is a financial crime, and, in that, the amount of debt owed by the Osefos, jointly, individually, and by the businesses that they own, is highly relevant to their motive.”

The Osefos defense team labeled their attempts as a “fishing expedition.” However, their prosecutors feel otherwise. The Osefos had “approximately 40 credit and/or debit cards” to their name. All of which, they claim, contain aliases in a “deliberate attempt to mask their identity.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
